Description: The original modern Indian restaurant, Dean Street's The Red Fort, has been flying the flag for flock-free, uber-contemporary Asian restaurants since 1983. Having undergone a complete refurbishment in 2010, The Red Fort remains at the forefront of cutting edge restaurant design with its sleek lines and block colour, designer lighting and modern artworks. A sparkling atmosphere means that The Red Fort appeals to a sophisticated crowd far beyond your post-pub curry seekers, with romantic dinner a deuxs taking place alongside business meetings. Much like the design, The Red Fort's menu takes Indian dining to a higher, more refined level with excellent ingredients used in creating wonderfully decadent dishes, delicately spiced and carefully flavoured. ..

Had dinner here with colleagues. The service was rather middling, and the waiter had to regularly defer to the manager any time we wanted another bottle of wine or to ask a wine-related question. The service, while attentive when food was arriving or being cleared, largely broke down when asking for any guidance on a particular dish - the answer for any query was likely to be 'oh yes, that is good' - a bit lacking in the descriptions I'd say. In any case, the interior is handsome and the food was quite good. As another reviewer said - good dinner but not extraordinary (which sometimes is just fine of course!).

A group of business colleagues shared a fixed menu dinner.

Indian isn’t my favourite cuisine and this restaurant re-enforced it. I’ve had a lot better in Australia and at a more reasonable price for the offering.

The starters were okay, the chicken main was the better of the two that i tried. The lamb shank was tough and needed pulling off the bone.

Condiments were standard and plain naan was served.

The price per head with wine was as much as some much better London restaurants.

I recently visited this venue , was very disappointed, had been before with a friend last year.
I find it very expensive £7 for two little Indian doughnuts!
The menu is so limited , not what you’d expect from an Indian restaurant,
and I found out afterwards that they don’t list everything on there !
Only Indian I’ve ever been to that doesn’t serve ‘Cobra’
Limited choice of rice dishes limited vegetable dishes in fact little anything.
DW.

This place was recommended by the hotel. Went about 7PM on a weekday and it was very quiet. I found it to be clean and the staff friendly and offered fast service.
There is a good choice of Indian food with the normal lamb, chicken, fish and veggie offerings. The food was great.
