Came here for birthday. This Polish restaurant has been here for decades and quite an institution. Recently extended. Downside if you are disabled there is no disabled toilet and have to go down some precarious stairs.
Food what is not to like? So many dishes I wanted to have. All good. We had starters of meat dumplings brought on saucepan to the table and sausage both delicious. Then veal schnitzel which really good. One of us also had medallions and this portion was not overly large. BTW the bread was delicious.
Service was excellent very attentive I even got a flaming vodka shot as it was my birthday. House white wine good.
Daquise has a an oldie worldy shabby chic charm. They used to have in the front of the restaurant some nostalgic paintings of Polish lancers, these are now consigned to a wall in the back of the restaurant which is a pity. Well worth a visit if you want genuine Polish cuisine. Also cheaper than another earby Polish restaurant on Exhibition Road.

After a day at the Victoria and Albert Museum, dinner was in order. Daquise was a short walk away. We were seated, without a reservation, pretty quickly. The service was gracious, the food superb. The sour rye soup was a revelation, and the entire menu brings foods from eastern Europe that may be unfamiliar but are accessible, well-worth knowing and wonderfully prepared. It was a warm and welcoming experience. Highly recommended (but I felt lucky to be seated without a reservation, so a phone call ahead may be advisable).

Quite by happenstance, we found Daquise while trying to fit in a bite before a show at Royal Albert Hall. What a delightful find! Food was excellent (try the Polish egg starter dish) and the atmosphere, design, and story of the venue were riveting! Thank you Daquise for one of our favorite unplanned (the best kind) London experiences!

We stumbled upon Daquise by accident when our tour bus let us off in the neighborhood. After walking up several streets checking out what there was in the way of restaurants, we were taken by the intimacy of the place, and when we saw the menu we were sold.
I wish we had been more hungry. We had the boar dumplings and salmon over potato pancakes. The dumplings were flavorful and generous. The potato pancakes were done to perfection--crispy on the edges and moist on the inside. Service was pleasant and helpful. At the end of the meal we had a taste of their Borscht-hands down the best I have ever had (sorry Grandma!). I plan to return to London and will make it a point to go here again for a full meal.

Every year we come to London so how did we miss this restaurant. It is without a doubt the BEST restaurant we have ever eaten in . Not only is the food freshly made, absolutely delicious and if you are an American the portions are so plentiful that you will leave satisfied. Where else in London do they fill up a bowl of soup to the brim! Oh, and the prices? So reasonable. Don’t miss this restaurant!!!!
