The fairly inexpensive cost to ride the slide is on top of the price to the public viewing platform, but you can’t do the slide on its own. It was terrifyingly good fun and despite her anxiety my girlfriend was handled extremely well by the staff so she plucked up the courage to take the slide down and totally enjoyed it too!

We had a London Pass that says it's included. When we got there it only includes the viewing platform not going down the slide. We tried to add it on but it was sold out (very disappointing). If you want to do the slide make reservations early and you'll have to pay for it separately. Aside from that everyone there was super nice and helpful. The view is so great and overlooks all the structures from the 2012 Olympics.

It was a lovely day. We had pre-booked through the official site. Our time slot was stuck to. The worse but is the waiting, the unknown. As soon as you start to slide it is super fun. You then get to go and explore more. Lockers are available for £1 returnable deposit. A few minutes walk from Westfield and a wonder around the park makes for a great day out.

I decided to gout of my comfort zone and do this giant helter-skelter. I booked online and was given a time slot so it was easy to get in. The man at the desk was helpful and explained what i needed to do and where to go.

There are lockers which were £1 which was refundable. We needed to get one as you are not allowed bags on the slide-even handbags. There is a lift to take you up and toilets when you get there. The views over the park are good and you could see into the West Ham football stadium.

After putting on our safety equipment we were then shown how to get into the bag that we had to lie in in order to go down the slide. This was pretty straight forward.

The slide takes approximately 40 seconds and you go at about 35 miles per hour mostly in the dark. The sudden turns were exhilarating although as i couldn't brace myself i did jar my knee at the first one. There is a man to help you at the bottom.

Surprisingly i didn't scream and it was really good fun. I have problems with my mobility and had no problems getting on or off the slide and apart from the sudden turns i was absolutely fine.

The slide is at Stratford which is a bit of a trek from the tourist centre of London but there is regular public transport and the website has good instructions. There is also the shopping centre there so you can spend some time shopping or having something to eat/drink if you want to make more of the day.
