Stayed here for four days and will definitely return. The quality of the property and the service are both excellent.
Check-in: We were going to be arriving earlier than expected due to a change in plans, so I emailed the hotel ahead of time and they said they would make a note to ask for an early check in. When we arrived the room was being prepared so we were invited to sit in the lounge and enjoy a cappucino. Clara was friendly and professional. Our daughter received the Kids@Taj gift bag which included crayons, an activity book, paper, etc. Also received a bear dressed as a guard at Buckingham. She loved it. Clara talked to her and our daughter would seek her out each morning.
The room was a Minsters Deluxe One Bedroom Suite and it was amazing. Very well appointed and also spacious. When traveling with a young child, a kitchen is convenient, but usually you have to sacrifice quality/luxuriousness of the hotel to get a kitchen. No sacrificing here! The kitchen was stocked with pots and pans, dishes, glassware, cutlery. Appliances included a full oven, stove top (hob), dishwasher, refrigerator, washer/dryer, toaster, teapot, Nespresso machine. It was very clean and modern. Bathroom was large with toilet, bidet, shower, tub. There is a TV on the wall so you can watch while soaking in the tub. Bedroom has a king-sized bed with a firm mattress which we found...Stayed here for four days and will definitely return. The quality of the property and the service are both excellent.

We had a rollaway bed for our daughter and even with that being placed on the one side of the bed, there was plenty of space on the side of the bed. Living area had a comfortable sofa and chairs. The lay out was good and the room spacious enough that we (two adults and a child) never felt cramped.
The courtyard the Taj 51 shares with Taj St James is a quiet respite from the busy city. There are renovations happening currently with the Taj St James, so there is some scaffolding about, but it was not terribly disruptive to the experience and I never heard construction noise.
The location is great. Buckingham Palace, Horse Guards, St James Park, Green Park, Churchill War rooms, Westminster Abbey, Big Ben/Parliament, and more were all within walking distance. (No more than 15 minutes to any of them.) (Tip: if traveling with little children: there is a nice little playground in the corner of St James Park nearest to Buckingham Palace and it was such a great place for our daughter to have some outdoor play time while we sipped...More
