my friend and i came here for a nice quiet drink at lunchtime and were pleasantly surprised at the peacefulness of the place and it was not busy at all....it has been refurbed since I last went and very much in keeping with its traditional look and age. If you are gin fan (Im not), they do the most amazing huge range of gin orientated drinks so enjoy that

we had a small salad each (not cheap but it is the City) and it was a shame to go back to work after this wonderful hour's oasis

WOULD RECOMMEND THOROUGHLY

We found this pub yesterday afternoon by chance after a couple of others nearby were full but I'm so glad we did! We were in London for the weekend, party of 9 with 3 generations and having done lots of walking needed some good food and that's what we got and more! The service was brilliant, although it was fairly busy, the staff moved some tables together for us, served us drinks whilst we looked at the menu. My daughter is a fussy 9 yr old and there was no kids menu but when I asked about doing her a smaller roast dinner, this wasn't a problem. When the food came, it was spot on, very good standard - we had lamb shanks, steak pie, fish and chips, burger, roast dinner and a spiced cauliflower salad that my Mum said was the tastiest veggie meal she'd ever had!

Thanks for a great family meal and keep it up, wish we could have stayed longer - it was the sort of pub where you could lose an afternoon!

We had a drink here as part of a Birthday celebration and we were very impressed.

Friendly staff in a nice pub setting- gin and cocktails were also lovely.

A massive step above your average pub and a place to go on a Friday if you want to avoid the scrum of central
