We decided on an impromptu visit here with hubby’s nephews (14 and 11) on a wet Saturday morning. The queue was quite long and took about 45 minutes but when we got inside we realised why! 221b Baker Street is a terraced house with one staircase and two rooms on each floor and is so full of the most amazing artefacts and exhibits you just don’t want to leave. It really is fascinating. I would imagine it is not the place for younger children but we had a thoroughly enjoyable visit aided by the talks from helpful staff guides and the gift shop is a treasure trove. Check out the policeman in traditional uniform of the time at the door. Worth the £50 for four of us as well as the wait in the rain.

The wait is long and the “tour” really not worth the price. Pick another attraction for your time in London.

Very expensive to get in (£15) and, even then, you have to queue because the museum itself consists of just 6 rooms and is very cramp and doesn’t really take long to get around. All in all, not worth the money.

Tip: 1. Purchase your ticket (GBP15 each) in the gift shop before queue.
2. Be prepared to queue. We visited in March during the snow and waiting for 30mins..

We do not have a lot of expectation as we did plan this visit just suddenly came to our mind and the time fit. The museum consists three floors of exhibits, including lots of traditional well preserved Victorian pieces. The tour in the house was quiet fast. The tour guide give visitors a good amount of information about the background Sherlock and Watson. After the guided tour, you are free to walk around the house
and take photos. The shop next door is very nice too!

For seeing tiny 6 rooms you pay 15 pounds that too sandwiched between 10-15 people around you. Really not worth it. The gift shop next door is the real deal and has some really good souvenuirs to buy. Skip the museum and spend the 15 in the gift shop.
