Owner description: There can be no other theatre in the world which has two such distinct and diverse claims to fame as the Aldwych.During the period from 1925 until 1933 the theatre housed a series of farces by Ben Travers which have gone down in history as 'The Aldwych Farces'. They included such familiar titles as A Cuckoo in the Nest, Rookery Nook, Thark, Plunder and A Cup of Kindness. Nearly 30 years later, on 15 December 1960, the Royal Shakespeare Company took over the Aldwych as its London base.During the next 21 years, prior to the company moving to its theatre in the Barbican, history was frequently made. The Aldwych is currently the residence for the Olivier & Tony award winning Beautiful - The Carole King Musical

Recently went to see The Tina Turner musical and was blown away. It is a really good insight into Tina's life. I wanted to go as I have always been a massive fan of her music and wanted to learn more about her life, I knew she had an awful life with Ike but this gave a true insight into the many tragedies and discrimination's she faced throughout her life. Would highly recommend if you like Tina and her music. The theatre itself has good acoustics and ambience.

The Tina Turner Musical hands down the best show I’ve ever seen. Already rebooted for October fantastic show.

I’m not sure what show other bad reviewers had seen, but I’m certain it wasn’t the Tina musical I saw.
It was amazing- if you don’t like Tina’s music- don’t go. If you don’t know a bit about her background- don’t go.
If you want to see a blooming good show and an amazing cast belt out all her hits- you’re in for a treat.
Only downside- there were some drunk guests who did make a lot of noise and shouted during the performance but they were dealt with and chucked out at the interval. Nothing to do with the show and the staff were very accommodating.

Came here for performance of Tina, the Tina Turner musical. Not our cup of tea i'm afraid.
We had seats in the grand circle, center stage. Would have been great had we been comfortable! The seats themselves are very narrow,...bit too cosy with person sitting next door...not a lot of leg room either, I am only 5'7" and my knees were pressed into the top metal bar of seat in front...painful! Ended up after a while with a "numb bum" leaned forward to try and ease the pressure only to have some woman behind moan about people sitting forward!
The show itself was a little disappointing too, not at all what we wre expecting and very loud! All in all not a very enjoyable experience...sooner watch the movie! Would not visit this theatre again.

I found this production extremely disappointing, so much so that I left the theatre at the interval for the civilised environment of the Waldorf Hotel next door while my wife saw it out. The direction and choreography were no better and no worse than any other similar show but the violence, aggression, political undertones and complete absence of humour left me cold.
