We stayed at Marriott County Hall a week thru New Years. The celebration and fireworks just outside the hotel over the river was something I will never forget. The rate for New Years eve was very expensive but the location could not be beat for viewing the celebration. Found the hotel very nice as well as the service. The breakfast each morning was special as we we could see "Big Ben" while we ate. Found the dinner menu expensive and just ok. Overall you can not beat this location if sightseeing in London.

Room Tip: Request a river or Big Ben view.

We stayed for two days at Christmas at Marriott County Hall. The hotel has a most envious position right in the heart of historic London.
We loved the refurbished rooms, the unique wallpaper ( depicting maps of London ) and the beautiful, light and spacious bathrooms. Our bedroom had a view to die for : the Big Ben, the River and London Eye!
We had our meals at the stakehouse / restaurant. The waiting staff were courteous and very helpful explaining the menu, e.t.c. Everybody did their best to make us feel welcome and have a great time.
One of the best features of the hotel is its architecture and decor. It has retained some of the original fittings, such as Art Deco chandeliers and wood paneling.
Walking in the corridors was like passing through time into an elegant era long gone. We were also impressed by the large gym and the Olympic-sized swimming pool.
On the whole an unforgettable experience.

Room Tip: Rooms with River views and higher floors are the best

Great service at the restaurant and bar. Ruxandra was very courteous and helpful!! Helpful tour tips as well that was not expected. The staff like this makes the difference to platinum travelers like me. Will surely revisit. Not to mention the London Eye location is fantastic as well.

So this place has the views to die for!!! Booking this room from overseas was for the sole purpose of celebrating our wedding anniversary, with the fireworks!!
Originally I was only staying with our kids, midway through longer trip, and didn't want to be pushed and shoved all day waiting for the late night entertainment. About 2 months after booking I thought my husband should come over and enjoy the NYE celebrations as it was our anniversary. The room was full pre-pay in advance @ £1200 for the night - no refunds or changes.....
We discovered too late that only 3 peeps were allowed in one room..... So long story short - we had to book another room, for another £1200.... In our Australian dollars this equated to $2500 + $2500 = $5,000 for one night......
The hotel is very traditional in decor, and very nicely kept. The staff were so attentive & friendly, their service was impeccable. We were given a small bottle of champagne to celebrate with; and the location was amazing.
It was unfortunate we weren't aware of the 3-a-room-limit.....back home just about all hotel rooms accomodate 4 people so we were not even aware this was something we should have been on the lookout for. Wish we knew then what we know now!!! Very Expensive lesson.... Fireworks were great, $5k was a lot of money......

Room Tip: Ask to be near the elevator.

Been to this spa a few times. I think what it lacks is the wow factor as they say. The therapists are good and know their stuff but there's a sense of doing a job about it. The relaxation room is a tiny place with four recliners and no privacy whatsoever between them. There are also no blankets to snuggle under. Big error. Plenty of access to water and teas but no fruit. It all felt a bit grudging. Pet hate is the very heavy pushing of products. I nearly buckled. So, it is what it is but definitely don't go for a special occasion.
