Booked last minute for standard room. Reasonably price for Wimbledon. Swift check in and was roomed by the same girl who checks us in.
Got ‘Veuve Clicquot’ room on the 1st floor with large window to the front of the hotel.
Beautiful room, high ceiling - It is an old house.. so expected.
Very spacious room and bathroom. Clean and equipped with the coffee machine.
Slightly weird configuration with the minibar inside the wardrobe(?)
Not sure if I am listening correctly, but the girl who roomed us said complimentary wine (there was half bottle of wine on the table inside the Room, far from minibar). We drunk it and will see if the bill come out on my card.
No complimentary water though. Or at least not that we can see.
Overall, good location. We could just walk 10 min to the village and find restaurants and cafes. Will be back if they have good offer.

came for special family occasion and were left unimpressed. first up -the venue itself was lovely, and would be especially so in sunny conditions. the front desk staff were friendly and helpful.
unfortunately the dining area that we had booked was a real let down, with damp marks on the ceiling and grimy tables that just needed a wipe over, still with the previous diners rubbish on the floor - such a let down considering the hotel du vin reputation. add to that an unfriendly and frankly grumpy waitress and it really takes the edge off something that could have been wonderful - the food was generally very good

Stayed here for two nights, very cool old building on the common, has lots of character and spectacular view over the park, bed & breakfast, evening meal all satisfactory, checking in and checking out was a bit chaotic, but nonetheless a worthwhile visit to the area, would not rush back... Service at breakfast time on Sunday was appalling, waited half an hour for food... Room was spacious, walking in the park was wonderful though plenty to see in the grounds and various gardens, avery, installations etc...

Room Tip: Request a room on the top floor with views at the rear...

Visited on business having been before, still has a great setting and lovely hotel however something has radically changed from a service perspective. Check in was awkward at best, slow, Uninformative, and certainly not welcoming. Asked for an additional room and it was clear there was an overbooking situation going on however the stress of the situation was clearly evident and felt like the stress was rubbing off on us. Afternoon tea service was slow, and to be honest the waitress was abrupt, when we asked if we could have our cakes we were told twist they were coming and didn't. Asked a third time and also why they didn't come at the beginning to be told we do afternoon tea different here so the cakes always come later, very abrupt and certainly wasn't a relaxing afternoon tea experience. Dinner wasn't much better, we were ignored by what seemed to be the head waiter, and after standing in the restaurant entrance for ages were eventually seated. During the meal the wine was just poured, not asked if we would like to try it, no check back the food was ok and weren't even asked when plates were cleared if it was nice. The food was actually very good!! Checkout was similarly poor, we were staying all day the following day meeting candidates so I asked to keep the bill open, didn't lie me doing this until I had to be firm I wasn't paying until the end of the day. During the stay there seemed to be lots of managers walking around and standing observing but clearly weren't observing the standards of service being delivered. This place needs a shake up, we have stated before and it was absolutely exemplary, however it's not just one bit of bad service this time, it's like the business has lost focus on the basics and what they look like. I hope you sort it whoever is the manager as it's a real shame what we experienced. We also heard other people complaining so it wasn't just an a set of isolated situations that unluckily happened just to us.

We had breakfast with the beautiful view of Cannizaro Park. The staff serving breakfast were very polite and pleasant. The portions are relatively small but delicious. You feel you are in the English countryside while wandering around the Cannizaro Park. It is a great venue to combine breakfast with a Sunday walk.
