For the price, K Hotel Kensington ranks favorably among the London hotels I've stayed in. It's clean, nicely furnished and easily accessible via the Gloucester Road Tube. My room was small (as is typical in London) but the layout and use of space prevented too cramped a feeling. I was pleasantly surprised that the bathroom was "normal" sized.
My room (508) was on the top floor, to the back, so I avoided any street noise. You can, however, hear other guests opening and closing doors. During my stay this wasn't an issue, but if you're unlucky with night owls or early risers, this could be a problem.
I would recommend that guests save money and get a package without breakfast. The hotel dining area and food selection are uninspiring, and you can do much better at one of the half-dozen or so cafés in the area. (I personally recommend Le Pain Quotidien on Exhibition Road in South Kensington. An easy and pleasant 15 minute walk, and right next to the V&A museum.)
I'd also warn guests that the hotel's front desk staff aren't the most animated bunch. Though they weren't rude and I didn't have a problem with them per se, for those needing advice or problems solved, I could see this being an issue.
So, overall, the pros outweighed the cons and the price was decent. In London, this earns a thumbs up.More
