We stayed just by St. Paul's so this was a must for us. We were a family with two children and paid 44 GBP for entrance which is a little cheaper than the 18 GBP it would otherwise have cost.
My only disappointment was the ban on using cameras or camcorders inside the building. However, i can recommend the walk up to the whispering gallery and further up into the exterior viewing terraces. Take a deep breath and scale the stairwells and you you'll be greeted by a wonderful view immediate city areas around.

The Cathedral is just amazing the detail on every square inch of this place is ridiculous. You honestly need 1 hour to just soak it all in. We decided to climb the steps to see the whispering gallery and then the top deck. It took about 20 minutes and the first half the steps are not bad. However the higher you get the more challenging and steeper the steps get. If you don't like heights or get claustrophobic or use a stick to walk this is not for you. There is no elevator to bring you down so coming down was just as tricky as going up. However the views were absolutely amazing. I had always wanted to go and i am glad this time around i actually got to go inside and really appreciate it! i really enjoyed the staff at the whispering gallery...they whisper from one end so you can hear it on the other end, THEY love their job you can tell and were so passionate about telling us about the acoustics.

Well worth staying a little longer for an organ concert or choir singing at St. Paul’s. The music is beautiful.

We headed straight for the Whispering Gallery. Fabulous view of the church and the scale of the building. We didn’t realise until we got there that there are another 2 higher galleries to climb up to. Then down to the crypt to see the tombs of British heroes, scientists and artists. Really glad we spent time to stop and read. Learnt loads.
