I’m not sure why people are reviewing this as “fabulous”. Yes, the tower itself is amazing, but the whole setup is now fully geared for pushing as many tourists through as possible.

It wasn’t like this years ago.

The white tower is filled with modern displays, completely destroying its historic character. The ramparts are just one long queue, with thousands shuffled through like cattle. So busy, you can’t even stop to read the displays (which were also poorly made).

The line for the Crown Jewels was so long, who could be bothered?

Anyway, there’s history there, but the whole thing has just turned into a circus.

Visited here for my daughters birthday. The Yeoman (beefeaters) talks are great and very amusing the way they tell the stories. Plenty to see and you go round in what order you like. We had a audio tour but did not really listen to all of it. Some of the actors in the grounds are great to. Would go again.

Due to size of queue we didn't go in but walked all around and viewed from the sky garden. Can see why it's so popular.

The Beefeater tour was fantastic but definitely worth the time. Don't be put off by the large group (about 40-50 people). The Beefeaters speak loud enough to hear and you can only go into the chapel if you are on the tour.
