Get a weekly transit pass or oyster card. Be prepared to climb steps when escalators are not present, be on time for anything anywhere in London. ast

The tube with its vast network will take you from anywhere to anywhere, al you need is the map and the Oyster card (you can save much by going for the weekly pass if you are for some time) ..

They are swift and efficient, never mind if you just missed a train, the next one should not be far behind..however in the rush hours the tube is crowded, more so the central London stations.. but overall the tube is one of the important life line of London ..

Once you get your head around getting from one train to the other via stairs lift or escalator it is actually incredibly quick and handy to get around London city. Un fortunately if there is a problem for instance overcrowding in the station that they then close you have to re-figure your journey. I would strongly recommend using an oyster card for access and speed through the turnstiles. You can purchase visitor oyster cards online. Underground is capped at 8 pounds I think so that gives you room to make mistakes and change from one station to the next. There are plenty of phone apps to help you navigate the system also. I would also recommend if at all possible not travelling during rush hour for your first few excursions.
Tip if there is a sign at the bottom of a stairway saying please use the lift I would strongly suggest that you do that. Climbing up hundreds of stairs is a bad plan :-) I almost had a heart attack.

Travelling in London by taxi is the last choice you want to be on. With the British Pounds high rates, total pocket killer!

Get an Oyster card, hop in to the train, travel around London with it and I can bet you that you will save a lot!

In peak season, it’s worth braving the heat to avoid traffic congestion and we marvel at the incredible transport system offered in the underground!
