This a jewel.
We arrived on a hot London day.
The train station was only a short walk to the flat. We threw the doors onto the Thames open & a welcome breeze swirled around the large living area, up the hallway & into the bedrooms.
We were stunned to see tall ships sailing past our window. There must have been a regatta. This & all the usual river traffic was entertaining & peaceful to watch especially against the back drop of the reliable sunset behind The Shard.
The place has a charming peacefull village atmosphere, with the bells of St Mary’s church ( a stones throw away) pealing on a Sunday morning, the Mayflower pub a few doors down, a delightful little cafe in a 16th century guard house with tables & chairs in a prettty park as well as the fabulous herbaceous garden on the roof of the Brunel tunnel shaft where casual food is served on a fri & sat night eaten by candle light. Herbaceous cocktails are made in the very rustic bar there.
During the week, movies & music can be enjoyed across the sleepy road from the flat
at Sands film studio. If you enjoy watching movies in an old armchair & in a quirky environment then you will love this.
Simplicity restaurant a minutes walk away had fabulous food but we had to book.
The city centre was 10 mins away on a tube & we found we looked forward to returning to our tranquility..
We like walking & the flat is on the Thames walk way.
We walked to the Tate Modern, Tower bridge & the Globe.
I am finally writing a review on this place after staying in it several times.
There is too much to write.
Even in winter it is charming. The gas fire is apealing with the back drop of twinkly lights on the river.
The flat was clean, well appointed & Caroline was a helpful host.
A lovely spacious apartment with a superb view of the Thames. The whole process was seamless and Caroline was very helpful and attentive. We will definately be returning and have already recommended the apartment to friends and family
We booked this property due to the fantastic views and it didn't disappoint. Set right on the River Thames with uninterrupted views it was easy to while away a few hours just watching the boats go sailing by. The full width glass windows when open let through a lovely breeze and with the lovely weather we had it madefor a really pleasant stay. The large lounge was very comfortable with ample seating and a gorgeous wood burner set into the windows. The kitchen is very well equipped with granite worktops and a large breakfast bar and stools. The bedrooms had plenty of storage and really comfortable beds. Just a few doors up is The Mayflower pub with excellent food and an outdoor terrace to take in those fab views. 2mins to overground station or 5 to Canada Water underground and just 5 stops to Oxford Street. This is a great place to stay in a quiet well maintained area with all London has to offer within easy reach. We would definitely recommend and love to stay again.
We chose this apartment due to it’s incredible location right on the Thames, with the added bonus of the tube being less than a minute walk from the apartment. The space is incredible, very well presented and Caroline was an attentive host who provided us with very useful information before our stay. Kitchen and bathrooms are clean and well equipped and the beds are very comfortable. We would love to stay again the next time we are in London.
