Notting Hill fantastic area to stay...the house is situated so perfectly for a great cool relaxed break...really good public transport, bus stop right outside and taxis found us with ease. Easy access to airports and Paddington station. Marina is the best host who is so helpful and organised in all that you need from first contact to last goodbye! Nothing was too much and all our needs as friends were completely met . The house was so clean..the beds, bedding, towels top quality cotton .The space downstairs is furnished with stylish furnishings . Security in the house was very comforting I would be quite happy there on my own.
Next to a park for fitness gurus or gentle strollers and the best bars and restaurants 10 mins walk away . When we got home from the party delights the house was so quiet and welcoming. A good venue for family of all ages.
In all we had the best time and I want to keep this property a secret ...but it is too good to miss ....Huge thank you Marina and team !!!
Our family of 5 stayed at Marina's lovely home June 20-24, 2017.
The home is exactly as advertised. Spacious, bright, clean and comfy. The flat is located on a quiet residential street convenient to shopping and transportation.
The flat: open the private gate and stroll though the secret garden to find the flat. Walk into the entirely open first floor that houses the kitchen, dining area, LARGE lounging sofa with view of the widescreen TV and landing with sleeper sofa. Upstairs you'll find a "master" bedroom with shower and the second bedroom next to the bathroom with toilet and bath tub. Being a loft, the ceilings in both bedrooms slope dramatically so watch your head! Throughout the home are several skylights that allow in both sunlight and a cool breeze.
Amenities: you will have everything you need. Utensils, pots & pans, dishes, plenty of fluffy towels, extra pillows and sheets, soap, etc. If you are wanting ice for drinks, buy a bag at Sainsbury's as the mini fridge only has trays. Also, explore the cabinets on the main floor to find books, puzzles and games.
The location: great residential location that backs to a park where our little one had fun blowing off steam and meeting local kids. There are several small grocery stores, bakeries, etc. within walking distance. We found it easiest to take the #7 bus to the Ladbroke tube station where there is a Sainsbury's local. Here you can get just about any provision you will need. Even if you are trying to pack in all the historical sites of London in a short time period, be sure to set aside some time for the Portobello market. We went on a Friday morning and were easily able to have breakfast and stroll through the entire market by early afternoon - allowing us to fit in one more historical site in the afternoon.
Transportation: We had originally planned on using the tube for most of our travel but the closest tube station was closed due to the Grenfell tower fire. Instead, we made use of the #7 bus to get us to various points (Portobello road, Sainsbury's local). We also extensively used Uber - which I highly recommend (especially if you have an aged person who has a hard time managing all of the tube station stairs in your group as we did). We never waited more than 10 minutes for a van in any part of the city.
Communication: Before and during our stay communication was prompt, helpful and friendly. Even though our flight was delayed by several hours, Marina adjusted her schedule to meet us at the flat to get us situated. Throughout our stay, she provided tips, directions and even weather reports :)
Restaurant recommendations: Breakfast - St. Helen's bakery a couple of blocks away has lovely pastries & coffees. However, if you're just looking a dose of caffeine, the bakery across the street has coffee that is twice the size and half the price. One of our best meals of the trip was breakfast at the Electric Diner on Portobello Road - beware, HUGE portions. For lunch and dinner we recommend Pizza East and Thai Rice - both on Portobello Road. We loved Thai Rice so much we ate there twice. The owner (Nom) was super friendly and attentive.
All in all, this is a GREAT flat. We would not hesitate to stay again & highly recommend both the flat and the host! BOOK IT!
This beautiful house was the perfect choice for us! We were a family of 4 with two teenagers and this home offers more than enough space. It's beautifully decorated, very clean, has every necessity you could ever want, and the location was perfect. It's in a very quiet residential section of London with the back facing a park. There is a bus stop just steps away from the front door that will take you to the train station in 5 minutes. There are several shops and restaurants well within walking distance. This is a very safe and quiet area. The property manager was the absolute best and actually lives next door should any problems arise. I would absolutely stay here again when visiting London. You won't be disappointed with your stay in this home. I highly recommend it!
