This was a challenging apartment to sleep in. First, it is situated between 2 very loud one-way streets that have constant traffic along with many emergency vehicles in the middle of the night. During our June stay, we were hot at night. There is no way to keep open windows while you sleep as the first floor has just door openings or one bedroom window that would leave you vulnerable to 1) massively loud sirens and street noise 2) an intruder. The upstairs rooms only have windows that pop open but when it rains, it rains directly in. There are no fans. I asked management to provide some, but they only offered to reimburse me if I went out and bought some. There is no binder or any kind of manual on how things work in the apartment. The dryer worked at first, but then suddenly wouldn't emit heat. We had counted on laundering most of our clothes before heading to Scotland. We ended up with 2 loads of soaking wet clothes, and no way to dry them. The management offered no help in diagnosing the dryer problem. If a cup of instant coffee is your thing, well that's the "cuppa" they're talking about. No thank you. One light switch stopped operating and was left in a permanent "on" position which meant my son had to sleep in a fully lit room! UGH! We needed someone from management to come out ASAP and help resolve these important issues, but they don't do that. So we left London completely sleep deprived and wishing we had just booked a hotel.
