When we went into the restaurant we were originally seated by a very friendly man who took our drinks order. He then took our food order and when it was brought over it was delicious. Mr. Kay then came over to our table to make sure everything was okay - which it was - and also very kindly offered us tea and coffee on the house. He then proceeded to give us a tripadvisor card with his name written on top of it and was very persistent that we write a review. There also was a couple of men who seemed to be hanging around outside in a van and were coming in and out of the restaurant which was slightly offputting.

So overall was an interesting experience however the food was very good and the service was good too.

Mr Kay served us and was so gracious and welcoming. It was a treat to sit and enjoy the food and wonderful hospitality. Possibly our favourite restaurant experience during our time in London. Thanks from Jennifer and family!

Highly recommend— the chicken jalfrezi was awesome. We were served within less than 10 minutes of ordering.

We were staying around Gloucester Road Station, and based upon the good reviews, decided to give Little India a try. Walking in without a reservation around 6pm on a Sunday night wasn’t a problem at all, though the place was quite busy already.

Service was very good, but as a previous reviewer pointed out, a bit pushy. We are not big eaters in terms of quantity and a few smaller to medium sized dishes are usually enough to leave us stuffed, especially when it comes to ‘rich and heavy’ Indian food. Hence, we opted to share one paratha, a bowl of rice, and a meat and one vegetarian dish. When taking our order, the staff told us right away ‘this is not enough for two.’ I mentioned that we would just order some more, if we were still hungry later on. He then went on like this ,if you just pay a bit more, you’ll get the same dish a bit bigger.‘ Not wanting to argue with the guy, we followed his advice. In the end, we struggled with the volume of food and head plenty of leftovers. Also, when contemplating your order, they immediately offer some Papadam and entice you into ordering starters. The Papadam is usually free at other Indian restaurant, but here it’s not. The whole ordering process left us with a distinct feeling of a sales pitch. We also observed that lots of other guests had plenty of leftovers and were asking for doggy-bags.

As for the food itself, that was fantastic. We had one of the best Palak Paneer dishes in a very long time. Flavors and food texture were very nice and left us absolutely satisfied.
So, a big thumbs up for food quality, but not for the pushy attitude.

Had a lovely meal, last minute as in London on business, visited based on trip advisor reviews and it didn’t disappoint. Good service, lovely food, good size portions.
