We stayed at the Mountford as part of a family group. We found it quirky with its older style. The rooms were comfortable, the staff were very friendly helpful and atentive. The bar was very reasonable if not cheap compared to what we are used to. The buffet style breakfast was excellent well stocked at all times. There are plenty of restaurant to choose from locally in Lark Lane. The area is pleasent to walk around with Sefton park only a stones throw away with its stunning palm house. We would definitely stay here again when in the area.

This is a beautiful hotel, with big rooms and a big bathroom. Great value for money and although not near the city centre it is close to some lovely parks. Bus stop is out the front and a quick trip to Liverpool 1 and Albert Dock. Staff are lovely and the bar is also very beautiful. When I extended my stay, I preferred to stay at The Mountford Hotel instead of the city centre as it was so beautiful. If I come back to Liverpool, this is where I will be!

Had a weekend break. Hotel staff very friendly. Breakfast buffet, ok if the food had just been brought out but if it had been under the lights keeping warm bacon and black pudding could be a bit dry. Eggs and mushrooms very greecy. Fruit, cereal, toast. Plenty of choice. The room was large and very comfortable and clean. A delux twin 1 double and 1 single bed. Bottled water nice touch. Room cleaned daily. Hotel is about 40/45 mins walk into Liverpool. Bus cost £4.80 for two as there was 4 in our party we booked a taxi through the hotel which cost £5, black cab coming back £8.75. Hotel close to Sefton Park which was lovely to walk around. Would definitely book again.

It's cheap and cheerful, adequate as an overnight stay. Bathroom seems to be newly decorated, the room seems clean, bed and pillows are fine. 24 hrs front desk is very helpful.
The swing back system on the doors and the lack of cushioning on the door frame makes every door slams back hard, there are people coming and going all through the night and walls are paper thin, windows are single glazing.
People smoke right on the front doorstep.
Breakfast is a very greasy affair, comes with 2 slices of bread. There is a basic selection of cereals and a few plastic packaged "croissants". No option of non-dairy milk. Heating is cranked up to sauna level, fresh fruits sitting the bowl are literally half baked and squidgy.

We stayed in room 5 which was at the back of the hotel and very quiet. The room was very small with no where to sit and relax other than the bed. The worst feature however was the very soft bed where we both rolled into the middle when you lay on it. I asked if there was another room but unfortunately with it being st Patrick weekend there was no other rooms. The very pleasant receptionist said all the beds were the same.
I had an ok sleep but my partner and I disturbed each other when we turned over. Surely the management should invest in some memory foam mattress toppers.
Next morning at breakfast there was plenty of choice but the coffee machine was working properly so a cappuccino came out with half coffee half chocolate.
All the staff were very pleasant and helpful and for what I paid I'd say it was good value for money
