We decided to pop into Liverpool to go to the many wonderful pubs and bars our great city has to offer before starting a weeks holiday in Albufeira.
We had been to some great bars including Peacock and also Heebie Jeebies when we decided to drop into Bar Bodega.
A cellar style bar, candlelight lighting helped create a great atmosphere and plenty of nooks and crannies were you can just chill out in .
My twin brother Stephen and I decided to try their bottled beer's and after a quick study of the beer's on offer we opted for Steam Anchor Brewery and these bottles were served iced cold and we just kicked back and chilled out in this superb cool bar.
This beer was outstanding, hoppy and very tasty and so easy to drink that it's a beer you could easily have all day,a proper session beer.
After our first delicious beer we had one more before we moved on and opted to have a classic Belgium beer name Vedett beer and again this bottle was served iced cold.
This is a lovely crisp beer that on the many holidays to Belgium over the years I have got a real taste for.
We had a great time in here and when we return from holiday will revisit Bar Bodega as we had such a fun time.
Very easy to locate on Colquitt Street in an area packed with pubs, bars and restaurants.
Opening hours are;
Monday & Tuesday,closed.
Thursday till Saturday,5pm till 3am.
Sunday,5pm till midnight.
A superb atmospheric bar answer well worth checking out.

Bar Bodega is a fantastic bar in an area of Liverpool City Centre full of great bars and pubs.Bar Bodega is located down a couple of stone steps were you enter an excellent and very atmospheric cellar like interior. An exposed brickwalled interior with excellent light fittings throughout the whole bar area and some excellent fixtures and features it really is a bar well worth visiting. We visited Bar Bodega after visiting the Peacock pub and Heebie Jeebies bar and decided to go into Bar Bodega and have a few beers. The beers we had in here were craft beers from there excellent bottled range. When here I had a bottle of Steamboat Brewery IPA a beer which was served extremely cold and was excellent and price wise what I would expect to pay in a bar of this quality. This is a great bar with a great atmosphere and is a bar I will visit again when we are in this area of Liverpool City Centre.Located on a street called Colquitt street and very easy to find from Central train station walk for a few minutes along Ranelagh street then a street called Hannover street then turn on to Wood street then turn onto a street that is called Colquitt street a ten minute walk.
Opening hours are.
Nearest Train Station.
Train Station-Central Train Station.

I thought it was ok.

The cocktails were tasty and served to us quickly by staff who seemed happy to look after us during our visit.

However the toilets were a disgrace

the tables were filthy and I had to clean one before we could sit down.

A couple of men started fighting right by us and nobody did anything about it. So we left just as it was all kicking off

Me and my friend stumbled upon this bar when we went down the stairs. The drinks were not badly priced and the cocktails were yummy. We managed to get a table in a little alcove which added to the atmosphere, and the bar tenders were really nice!
They made the effort to recommend a cocktail to us based on what we like and they gave us the happy hour deal even though it had finished.
We tried a chocolate shot which was unique and yummy! A great place for pre drinks before hitting the clubs, or just for some chilled drinks. Definitly recommended!

Went after meal in Rookwood. Were told upstairs we could have cocktail deal in restaurant (2 for 10 quid), for the waiter to come back 15 mins later to say we couldnt. Then got our bill which gave u money off if u went to bodega for drinks with receipt. Couldnt get both deal/money off together. Ordered drinks and waited aggggges for our. Guy who was on the bar didn't look like he knew how to make them. Drinks weren't nice and still expensive. Toilets horrible and generally disappointing experience after a lovely meal. Oh dear :(
