we stayed here for the weekend with our 3 children (aged 13, 12 and 5) so booked the deluxe family room. We were pleasantly surprised to have a view of the pleasure beach when we arrived as the website said it wasn't available in rooms with 3 children. The kids were delighted getting to see straight out onto the rides and the kids bunk beds were funky. Check in was straightforward and the hotel and the room were to a lovely standard, very clean and well appointed, definitely worthy of its 4 star rating.
All the staff were lovely, welcoming and very professional.

I had some issues with the room, although none major. The room we had booked was for 5 and there were only cups, plastic glasses and towels for 4. it wasn't a huge issue and they were quickly provided when we asked but I felt we shouldn't have had to ask when the booking was for 5. also one of the PS3 remotes didn't work but again it was quickly replaced with a working one once reported.
the room was warm (even for feb) there was air con but it quickly made the room too cold. The beds were quite hard and there was only one pillow each on the beds. I'm sure if i'd asked they would have offered extra pillows but having already asked for our quota of towels, cups etc. and a replacement PS3 controller I didn't want to seem like a difficult guest. To use the PS3 you have to hire the games at a £5 charge each for 24 hours and leave a £10 deposit which wasn't obviously stated anywhere on the website.

We ate in the restaurant on the first night. we hadn't pre booked and they accommodated us. The food was lovely. However, on the next night having spent the day on the pleasure beach and having had the all you can eat pizza, pasta buffet there (highly recommended) we didn't want anything heavy. We planned to get a sandwich in the bar but were advised no bar food is available after 5pm, the only option was the restaurant. This I felt was the biggest failing of the hotel. It's a family hotel and although the restaurant was lovely it wasn't cheap. I saw several people as well as us ask about bar food to be told it was the restaurant or room service only. As a result we left the bar early (hence stopped spending money there) and ended up eating sandwiches off our knees in our room. It seemed ludicrous that they could facilitate delivery of sandwiches to our room but not to the table in the bar (next to the kitchen).

breakfast was lovely, well organised and plentiful. Nothing ran out and the kids loved helping themselves. They were quick to cook my vegetarian daughter some vegetarian sausages.

Free car parking was a bonus and we were able to stay in the car park till 1pm on the day of departure which gave us chance to see some more or the local attractions

Overall the hotel is great and I would definitely stay again. the slight issues with the room were just that but I was definitely disappointed with the lack of dining options, given that this is a family hotel I felt really let down that the only opportunity for us to sit together for a meal was full blown a la carte.

Stayed here for 2 nights. What a lovely hotel, especially the staff who were all so helpful, polite and welcoming. Everybody from the people on reception to the housekeeping staff were great. The breakfast was super, self service but with lots of choice. Bottled water and shortbread in the room every day. The whole place was spotlessly clean. Right next to the pleasure beach if you like rides. Quite a way from the tower etc but still worth it for the quality.

Room Tip: Avoid rooms with the pleasure beach rides right outside window as they sometimes start testing the rides quite early. Noise was not a real issue though.

We have been to Blackpool a few times and as we live a five hour drive away we have to stay overnight to make the most of the Pleasure Beach rides. We stayed in a couple of local hotels which were between £80-100 a night for a family room in fact one was £110 in the school holidays. They are run down old style hotels. We tried the Big. Blue, and you do need to book early as it gets very full and got a room for £80 including breakfast for all three of us. The breakfast alone is huge help yourself cooked Buffet etc. although again in school holidays you may need to wait for a table, get down early if possible. The bar and restaurant are also good quality with friendly staff. The hotel staff are really nice and we the rooms are modern functional with tea coffee etc tv's in kids room in some rooms. Some of the rooms have park views, which if your a roller coaster fan like my son is great, you can see them testing the rides in the morning. All in all a great hotel, we will be back.

Room Tip: If you want a park view room you need to book early and ask when booking. Watch out for the slightly cheaper rooms as the kids beds are 5ft long ok for kids but not teenagers, you need the superior rooms for full size beds.

Absolutly everything is spot on with this hotel, cannot fault it. We were upgraded to a deluxe room which was a excellent start to our break which included a very good view of the pleasure beach. Breakfast buffet was excellent. Hotel is very modern and clean. The bed was super comfy, we had an amazing nights sleep. Only draw back is the location - it cost us £7 in a taxi to the centre. Walking takes around 40-50 mins. Overall, highly recommended and would say one of the best in the area.

I do t have a bad word to say about this hotel. Perfect place to take kids to stay, wouldn't be my choice if I was going solely with my partner though. Breakfast was of a high standard too kids loved it . Couple of nice touches in the family room with the board game on the wall and the kids tv's at the end of there bed. Room also sort of segregated from kids. Only thing I could say thinking about were the pillows weren't the best, very hard
