Bungalow is a nice size and has good amenities for a family holiday. Its about 15 minutes walk into centre of Keswick. Beds are comfortable! We enjoyed the Animal Park outside of Keswick, pony trekking and fishing at Rookin House. The "puzzling place" in the centre of Keswick is a must with children, lots of good puzzles and illusions. We also visited Hill Top (Beatrix Potter home farm), Hawkshead (Beatrix Potter Gallery) and Wray Castle. Stone Circle outside of Keswick a good visit. Local swimming pool in Keswick was very busy, but we chose the end of the day for our visits to get the best out of the wave machines and slides. Thanks Craig for a nice stay.
A lovely light, clean and homely cottage. Plenty of space and a great play room.
Our second stay and will be more then happy to return.
Always lovely to see Keswick,Shelter Stone is easy to find with plenty of parking space for our extended family. The cottage was clean with plenty of space for 6 people.it was nice to have towels provided. It is a good 15 minute walk into town so probably not for people who spend a lot of time in Keswick.Only one little niggle, table lamp in living room not working as previously reported so watched TV in the dark or with bright centre light on.It is a great base for walking and managed to bag a few wainwrights. Thanks to the owners for an enjoyable stay.
Enjoyed a week's stay at Shelterstone which is a very comfortable, well equipped property. Not in the centre of town but within easy walking distance though it's all up hill on the way back! Would definitely consider a return visit to the house and am happy to recommend it.
