Just returned from a weekend break at Brook House 2. Had a great time, the cottage has great walks from the doorstep and is only a short drive into Keswick. There is a pub just round the corner from the cottage that serves food and has some great real ales. Our little girl loved playing the the beck, feeding the ducks, and getting up close to the newborn lambs. Great memories are made on holidays like this!
Perfect location. Great space. Well equipped. Wonderful log burner. Well looked after by host. Lovely walk down to lake. Good WiFi for all. Highly recommended.
Not having really taken an extended holiday in this country for a few years we were overwhelmed by what we experienced. On arrival we were greeted in the most pleasant of ways and shown the cottage which was to be our "home" for the next 10 days. We could not believe that what we expected was surpassed by the lovely place and surrounding area we were in. The cottage was more than we expected with every home from home comfort you could imagine. The area around Bassenthwaite is so accessible with lovely countryside and beautiful walks and lakes. We had several walks which were advertised in the cottage through walking trail brochures. They ere easy to follow and aithough slight amendments had to be made due to storm damage, the previous year, we managed to complete every walk we made. A night out in Keswick to celebrate a birthday was enjoyed by everyone. A most welcoming community at one of the local "pubs" made this an unforgettable night out. A most relaxing, except for the walks, and friendly place to stay will stay with us forever. Thanks once again for a wonderful holiday.

We stayed in this cottage for 1 week in July. The cottage was clean and the kitchen was really well equipped with everything needed to make meals. There is a beautiful clean shallow stream close. Our children (6 years, 4 years and 2 years) loved playing in the stream. Mrs Trafford provided nets and ducks for them to play with. The village us quaint with lots of character. It is close to keswick. We visited the keswick convention and found this cottage very convenient. Mrs Trafford was an excellent host and attended quickly to anything that was needed. We would definitely recommend this accommodation.
