We wouldn't have ventured into a gallery normally, despite the fact i love art (we have a 2yr old and 5yr old who like to touch and run riot... cringing). However, I'd popped into the peter rabbit shop across the road with the 5yr old and the 2yo was screaming blue murder. My hubby took him outside. When i came out I discovered them both looking at the beautiful paintings in the shop... 2yo very happy. The lovely lady serving at the gallery had pacified him. Thank you so much to that lady, she made my morning. We all had a browse and i would have loved to purchase the lurcher sculpture. It was a touch out of my price range for an impulse buy on a family weekend away, but i will be saving up for a return visit. The paintings were stunning and not excessively expensive.

We visited the gallery whilst staying near Hawkshead. The lady running the gallery was very polite, friendly and knowledgeable, she took time to show us around and talk about the different artists whose work is displayed and was happy to answer any questions.

We ended up purchasing a painting of a Stag by Rob Hefferan and then a landscape by John Russell from the Coniston shop. We are very happy with our purchases and were very grateful to Maggie for her help during our visit.

Have to say the gallery is lovely. The works are amazing and would look lovely on our walls, unfortunately not the prices though! I know it's original artwork but still outside our price range.

Another review from those unable to afford to buy. The animal artwork was of a high quality and worth the stroll round. One day when funds allow.....
