We popped in here after a walk. It was around 2 pm but they still served lunch.

The food was freshly made and enjoyable.

The service was friendly.

The soup and the hot melt cheese sandwich wraps were good, the local ale was just right.

One to add to the list.

Thank Westlawns

Turned up about 10 mins before they stopped serving, but no issue and the welcome was very warm. 4 of us had the full roast, one hot pot and some chicken nuggets for the kids. Great roast, very tender beef, lovely Yorkshire, spuds and veg. Great value and would visit again. One small gripe , when we asked for coffees we were told the machine was down for cleaning, not an issue these things happen, but when we asked how long we were told 30 mins, which was code for no idea as at that point a lady appeared to say it was finished, so all good.

Just popped in here for a local pint and hot drinks for my wife and son. The beer was very good and the hot chocolate was good too. Friendly staff in a warm atmosphere.

I haven't been for a few years but this place remains a good traditional pub with nice food and good selection of ales.
You'll be advised to book at weekends I think. We did and despite the place being full, service was good and food nice and good value.
Look forward to going again

If you have been out cycling or walking and want a good hearty pub grub meal then this is the place for you. The people are friendly and the food is hot and plentiful.
