“A perfectly charming base for the Lakes”
Reviewed 2 September 2018 for a stay in August 2018

Just back from a week at Swangs with our daughter and 2 dogs. The cottage is kitted with everything you need to relax, including some really comfortable beds. No matter what the weather we loved it as a base to come back to from a day exploring the Lakes. Cosy when it was drizzly. Picturesque garden to laze in when sunny. All topped off with glorious views from every window. Would 100% book again. Enjoy!

“A fantastic stay”
Reviewed 5 June 2018 for a stay in May 2018

This cottage was so cosy and in such a beautiful, convenient location.
It had all we could need, plus the lovely touch of a bottle of wine left for us.
We stayed with our 2 dogs, and there was a quaint little cottage garden for them to roam around in, plus the added bonus of some gorgeous Highland cattle to watch in the field next door.
I would definitely recommend this cottage to anyone wanting a wonderful stay with the added bonus of being within a good driving distance of the lakes and Beatrix Potter’s house etc.
The owners of this cottage have clearly thought about all their clients needs.

Thanks for your kind comments and for taking the time to tell us about the temporary wifi issue which meant it wasn't a surprise to us or the next guests and we could inform them that the network name and password had defaulted back to factory settings. So happy you enjoyed your stay and we hope to see you again some day.

“Swangs Cottage”
Reviewed 8 May 2018 for a stay in May 2018

We have just returned from 6 lovely days in this beautiful cottage. With four adults and 3 dogs it had everything we needed, the decor and furnishings were to a very high standard, and the kitchen equipment was surprisingly comprehensive, great for four keen cooks.

The location of the cottage was a great base for six very different but beautiful walks including beaches, woodland, river and moorland walks, Coniston is very unspoilt and peaceful. We took the time for a trip to the Esk with a stunning river walk and a ride on the narrow gauge steam train back which was delightful. The drive was just under an hour but itself through stunning landscapes.

The two pubs within walking distance both served great food and were very welcoming to all, including the dogs.

Overall loved the house and the walled garden with added entertainment to the dogs of the cattle in the neighbouring field !

We will definitely return.

“5 Star 🌟 Cottage ”
Reviewed 5 May 2018 for a stay in March 2018

I never thought I will have such pleasant time in cottage. It was our first this kind of experience and I am stunned. Such lovely well maintained and cosy place. Has everything you need. Very comfortable beds, nice clean bathroom. Location is really good. At first I thought it would be far from Lake District places to see but then actually is really close if you have a car of course . Steve is very helpful and recommend us some nice places to see. Definitely will come back there again to stay for longer. The views are really nice too. Recommend 100%.

“Excellent choice”
Reviewed 7 April 2018 for a stay in April 2018

Lovely cottage, would certainly comeback. Well equipt and clean. Warm and confortable, nice location surrounded by nature. Steve, the host, is very helpful and replies to any questions promptly, gave us plenty of useful information about the area and the property. The only negative point is regarding cancellation terms, this was not clear in T&Cs at the time of booking. According to tripadvisor Steve has the most strict terms. I did not have a problem as thankfully I was able to make the trip however keep in mind if you are booking well in advance as it is completely non-refundable.
