We've been meaning to try 'Lucy's on a Plate' for ages but only got round to it this weekend. What a fantastic place. This really is our new favourite.

The menu is varied and different with many tempting dishes to choose from.

Although it was a difficult decision two of us went for 'Tomato and Roasted Pepper Soup,' one for 'Ginger Nut Beef' and the other for 'Thyme to Shiver Me Livers.' Cannot describe how brilliant all the dishes were.

For the main course two went for 'Double Duck,' one for 'Chish and Fips' and one for 'Popeye's Salmon.' All were beautifully present and phenomenally tasty.

Finally it was the puddings and although two of us really could not eat anything more the other two went for 'vanilla ice cream and hot butterscotch Sauce,' and the other for 'Sticky Toffee Pudding.'

We all agreed that this was by far one of the best meals we had ever had in super surroundings and with attentive and helpful staff.

Just Amazingly Brilliant!!!

We had heard good things about this restaurant before arriving in Ambleside and particularly that one needed to book ahead to get into Lucy's. We called in by chance one evening and although it was full, were lucky enough to get a table within 15 mins. as they had had a cancellation. There was a lovely feel and ambience in the restaurant, staff were very efficient and friendly, and the food was very good and freshly cooked. Great cocktail menu too.

It was Easter Sunday and the restaurant was very busy. When we arrived we were offered a drink three times then couldn’t seem to get another round. When we ordered a second round, it took half an hour to arrive, by which time we had finished dessert by ten minutes and were just looking for the bill. However the food was great and the desserts were fabulous. Quirky and unusual so well worth a visit.

Me and my girlfriend had three courses here all of which were fantastic. The staff are friendly, the atmosphere is great but the star is the desert options! At least 20 different desert choices

We visited the Lakes for a family weekend away to celebrate my daughters 18th birthday. As part of the celebrations Lucy provided the evening meal on the Saturday. I booked the catering online and crossed my fingers it would be ok having not sampled any of their food before. To say we weren’t disappointed is an understatement. It was fantastic. To finalise the three course meal I had a very brief telephone conversation with Lucy and agreed what we’d have for the three courses. The food was prepared in the cottage and served by a fantastic lady, who’s name escapes me, and everything was cleared up so we had literally nothing to do! Every piece of food was beautifully cooked and presented and delicious !! I’d highly recommend Lucy’s for any catering you need. Not only did Lucy provided first class food but was also able to provide table linen, birthday cakes and decorations at a very reasonable price, she even supplied printed personalised menus for the table. We’re definitely going to visit the resturant when we’re next in Ambleside and won’t hesitate to book Lucy for any other special occasion we celebrate in the Lakes. Thanks Lucy!!
