A lovely cottage. Really well equipped in a great location just above Ambleside. It's one of the most relaxing places we have been and the views over the fells at the top of the garden during sunset were just fantastic. Will be returning again!

“Superb stay”
Reviewed 28 January 2015 for a stay in November 2014

Stayed here twice now for a get together for my family and friends. Gorgeous cottage, loads of space, very easy communication re stay and access with owners and very handy welcome pack. Fab tiered garden which must be amazing for summer bbqs! Large dining table to fit all guests (we did a murder mystery dinner/game!) Well equipped kitchen with comfy beds throughout. Guests have their own space if required as very spacious. Will be staying agin.Easy access to Walks and Ambleside Taxi service accessible if needed. Very Highly recommended.

“Typically Cumbrian - cosy & comfortable”
Reviewed 3 January 2015 for a stay in December 2014

We spent new year in this beautiful property. It's location high above Ambleside is very tranquil & makes for real relaxing. Plenty of walks to go on without having to use the car. We found catering for 9 no problem in the very well equipped kitchen. There are spaces for teens to spend time together without being with the adults. There are a great selection of games which kept us occupied most evenings. It was lovely to stay in a property that was always warm. Having a washing machine & drier was a bonus as we could refresh the towels during our stay. Bird life in the garden was busy, we had a pair of jays, bullfinches, siskins, robins, a variety of tits, nuthatch just to mention a few. Owls could be heard throughout the night too.
The welcome gifts left by the owners were appreciated by us all.

Beautiful cottage, scenic location everything you need but needs a larger cooker for 9. Ambleside is wonderful for shopping and coffee shops and is very festive at Christmas.

“Charming and authentic”
Reviewed 21 November 2014 for a stay in November 2014

This cottage is warm and welcoming. What we loved about it was its authentic, quirkiness- a perfect relaxing hideaway for the whole family. Plenty of room for us all to be together when we wanted but also for the kids to 'escape' away in its secret rooms! Set in beautiful surroundings and an amazing garden which could be a wonderful place in the summer months.
We arrived in darkness but a light and cosy welcome awaited us and a better equipped kitchen than our own. The only thing missing, which we were unable to find, was a pair of oven gloves!
Would definitely return for future visits. Brenda and Philip made the whole process of booking on-line very easy and were able to give helpful advice when requested. Thanks so much from us all.
