This lovely cottage will keep us coming back time and again
We loved it just as much as b4 and surely will be back.
Beautiful well kept cottage so peaceful and quiet.
The bed is surely the best part its so comfortable and i slept like a baby.all facilities are perfect and well maintained.and the spa bath again is such a luvly added bonus after a day of trekking its wonderful way to wind down with a glass of wine.
Thank you once again for a perfect stay x

An Autumn Delight

We had a wonderful mid week break at Dove Cot.

Easy enough to find and a beautiful cosy warm cottage. The furnishings and facilities were excellent and the cottage was decorated to a high standard and very clean. Lovely cosy bed and a super double jacuzzi to chill in after a day on the fells.

This cottage is on a busy road so care and attention is needed if walking to Skelwith Bridge you can also pick up a good footpath into Ambleside from there too.

The gardens were full of beautiful Autumn colours and we sat outside to drink wine and take in the views

I look forward to return visits. Thank you Liz

Oh and dog friendly - brilliant

Nice little cottage out of the way in the country side lovely surroundings. We found the only problem was very close to the road which is a country road but at times very busy not really a problem if it wasn't for a loose great in the road which banged every time a car went past very annoying at times

“Lovely cottage in an ideal location for exploring the Lakes”
Reviewed 4 May 2016 for a stay in April 2016

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at The Dove Cot, it was a small cottage ideal for a couple. Lovely views of the river, with a small pond in the back garden too. The kitchen was well equipped, the living area quite spacious and the bathroom had a delightfully big jacuzzi bath that came in handy after a day of walking in the lake district.

The cottage is in an ideal location to base yourself, minutes away from Ambleside by car and maybe 5 minutes to Windermere, with Coniston a bit further away in the opposite direction. Even the further locations like Keswick and Ullswater were only about 40mins away (less once the a591 reopens!). There were lots of good walks closer to the cottage, with Loughrigg tarn/ fell, Elterwater, Rydal and Grasmere easily reachable. There is even a nice waterfall in Ambleside, which was a surprisingly short walk from the town centre.

This is a great area to stay, and a lovely cottage to do so in.
