“Disappointed!”

Have been waiting for some time for an opportunity to visit the park and the tearoom in particular. Lovely summer's day ( a Thursday) mid-afternoon to arrive after a hike across the park to find it closed. The door was open but the cafe locked up despite a bill-board notice up outside saying it was open - thinking this might be due to a staffing issue or an unexpected emergency I asked several people who informed us it only opens Friday to Sunday. Could not find this info on any web site. Annoyed and disappointed and rather vexed! Not really good enough to be closed like this in the summer months and total lack of information available.

Large park on top of the cliff top. Lots of open space for the children to run around. A well maintained childrens play area in the trees with an assortment of swings and climbing frames. A little kiosk open at weekends for ice creams etc. Ideal for a pinic if you fancy a change from the beach

You step from a busy park into a beautiful garden and italianate conservatory. Cream tea recommended in a pretty teacup.

Not impressed. Park dirty. Noticed other reviews saying the same thing.
However the plants are lovely and unusual architecture.
