We booked this hotel last minuite and were pleasantly surprised. We had a twin room at the rear that was a good size and very clean. It was very quiet at night. The continental breakfast was more than adequate with good quality produce. The location is on the sea front with the coastal path running in both directions. The hotel staff were helpful and friendly and i had no complaints what so ever.I would not hesitate to stay here again.

Room Tip: rooms at the rear are quiet but dont have the sea view

Very pleased with initial room on 4th floor with nice view, then every so often a water main in the corner would hiss loudly for 2 minutes, I assume when someone flushed the loo. Moved promptly to one on 2nd floor - this reeked of smoke so obviously the housekeeper had either told no one or smoked in the room. Moved again to the bottom floor, end of the corridor and down another flight. Constant air conditioning noise. Plus the fire exit has a pile of tiles in front of it. Frankly too annoyed to bother any more so will have a drink and sleep through it all!

Brilliant location, could do with a lick of paint. Bar is stocked with good quality selection, a little understaffed one night due to event in the function room.
Bedrooms were ok, bed was comfortable, got a view of a wall, little upset by that but as I said the bed was good and that's what's important.

Sat 6th - Sun 7th

When we arrived to the ‘hotel’ it looked very dated and worn with the reception area stuck in a time warp. We booked through Travel Republic I’m sure most of you would have heard of travel Republic well unless you work in this hotel that is. We arrived to check in and we were told that they could not find our reservation the lady on reception kept insisting that we book another room and claim the money back through Travel Republic as they couldn’t find the booking they quoted £170 for ONE night stay in a twin room even though we had originally booked a double room we obviously declined.

We asked for the manager who came over and was very abrupt and rude - he was unwilling to help us and again suggested was pay another £170 to stay the night and claim the money back through Travel Republic - he implied to us many times that we were lying about the company as NO member of staff in this hotel had ever heard of Travel Republic seriously ? I mean it’s like returning to the 1900’s . After an hour of waiting in reception after we had a fab spa day in a local hotel we were fed up and finally given a room (reluctantly may I add) when we arrived in the room we were gobsmacked again it’s like walking back in time the four poster bed was very chipped and very dusty.

How were the staff at the Comfort Inn Ramsgate? (2/10)

Most staff were friendly especially the new lady in the breakfast room she was really lovely and friendly as for management and reception staff they need customer service training

How were the Facilities ? (1/10)

The rooms were very old fashioned and very dirty- the four poster bed is beautiful unfortunately it’s chipped and cracked the top of the bed was so dusty - the dust was thick and black which indicates it’s been up on top of the bed for a while - cleaners might need some more training and mediation from management with room inspections taking place daily (obviously quality control does not exist here)

How was breakfast ?
(1/10)

Continental breakfast - hardly continental two pastry’s with toast and a selection of cold meat with a selection of cereals we decided to pay £5.99 each ( daylight robbery) for a ‘hot’ cooked breakfast which was cold, cheap and unappetising we walked away from breakfast feeling rather hungry and instead opted to go to the local harvester for breakfast a much better option!

The hotel is in a beautiful see front location however it’s just a shame the hotel and surrounding area is trapped in the 1900’s

Overall, I would not recommend this hotel to anybody - I will also be writing out a full letter to complaint to ‘choice’ hotels which oversees the hotel chain - the unwillingness for management to provide assistance to guests is shocking

We will not be returning to the hotel.

On the whole positive experience we had honeymoon suite view superb and hotel quiet at night which we liked. Shower mixer tap fell off which we were disappointed about and water missing from room (which it advertised as having). However, bed very comfortable.

Staff friendly but the girl on duty Easter Sunday morning not on the ball spent loads of time Outside of the breakfast room in reception area talking and therefore delayed waits and it didn't create a Good impression nor show attentiveness to the guests. Possibly she was just filling in or not normally in that role. Or just inexperienced. But the woman on duty Easter Monday morning total reverse, on the ball etc. Think balcony area inside could be less shabby but bar that and faulty shower part, a good experience
