Stayed here overnight when our football team were away to gillingham. Hotel was clean and tidy, room clean and comfortable
Gentleman on reception very helpful
Restaurant stays open later so able to get a meal if you arrive midevenig which we did.
Easy to find on route into canterbury, glad we stayed here not gillingham, wouod use again

Glad we did as it was a short walk into to canterbury town centre which is very pretty, lots of pubs and cafes for day or night. We were able to visit the white cliffs of Dover and margate on way to match.

Stayed: May 2018

We've stayed here before and like the staff and location. Its just outside town but a nice walk through the lovely Westgate Gardens into town.

Although you have to walk or get the bus into town, we prefer this to some of the Canterbury Hotels in town, as you avoid the noisy crowds of foreign schoolkids, bless 'em!

Anyway, this trip was during half term and we could only get a small double room (335). The room is as advertised and very small. You can only get in one side of the double bed!. The bathroom is also very cramped and I suspect anyone on the heavier side would struggle to get between the bath and basin unit to get to the toilet.

The room is at the front of the hotel and faces the main road. As it was hot we had the window open and the traffic noise was considerable.

I'm not really intending to be critical of The Victoria Hotel, as we like place overall and find the staff very friendly and helpful. This review is more of a heads up to say if you're going to stay here, go for one of the larger rooms and one at the back of the hotel.

Worth noting is they do a nice breakfast (£5.99 Continental or £7.99 full English) and there is masses of free parking.

Room Tip: Get a room at the rear of the Hotel to avoid road noise.

The Victoria Hotel looks a bit dowdy on the outside, but we enjoyed our stay so much that we already have made a return booking to the hotel. The proprietor was lovely, the room totally adequate, and the bathroom has been nicely remodeled recently. The bed was comfortable, the room was clean, WiFi worked, what's not to like? The Victoria has ample FREE parking around the back (a huge bonus in Europe!), and the restaurant it perfectly adequate for a relaxed meal. A great value that I'd recommend to any traveler.

Room Tip: Any off-street room is super quiet.

The hotel was clean and comfortable and the staff were very friendly. Breakfast food was good and tasty with plenty of choice of both hot and cold dishes. Great location for visiting Canterbury as only a 10-15 minute stroll to the city centre. Would definitely stay here again.
