Visiting from overseas last week and came across The Cherry Tree and thought we'd give it a go. Oh what a mistake! The atmosphere was very unwelcoming and I instantly felt like I didn't belong there, we should have left at that point but I thought we should give them a chance...
The girl behind the bar was so unbelievably rude to us. She clearly doesn't understand customer service...
I thought Canterbury was a lovely town and will definitely return, but will stay far away from The Cherry Tree.

This is a decent enough place to duck away from the madness in the High Street of Canterbury. There is real ale on offer. Service was good and swift. The place could do with tidying up a bit . The cocktail menu is something to behold check it out it's on the wall

If you are easily shocked by language don't go in here. Apart from that, they do good cocktails (with some interesting and non-"repeatable in polite company" names), and a "Happy Hour" which is just as well as they were expensive compared to other pubs we tried. Basically a fun pub, geared towards students, who want a fun time. We had a laugh.

Had a really fantastic evening in here the cherry tree last Saturday. The manager who has a beard was very attentive towards me and all of my nursing student friends and the locals were really interesting. This seems to be a pretty unique place b in Canterbury, it has its own character and identity and is an unashamed fun watering hole. I will definitely be returning.

Lovely place, quiet and relaxed. Funny staff and a good selection of ales. Happy times to be had here that is for sure.

Thanks for the review Leigh! It's true, we do sometimes have a laugh. Sometimes.
