We booked for the set menu of steak & lobster with a bottle of presseco. Unfortunately steak was really chewy, we informed waiter who organised a replacement. The new steak was slightly better but no up to Abode standards. Very disappointing.

Stayed here for a business trip.

Room very clean and spacious, the most comfortable hotel bed I have ever stayed in.

All staff in reception and the restaurant extremely polite and friendly.

The crab omelette from the breakfast menu is a must!

The hotel is in a great location and not too far a walk from the train station.

Stayed for 3 nights and really enjoyed the experience. Fabulous location on the Main Street. We had no car to park so this was just perfect for us. Room was spotless and bathroom was a tad small but had all that you need. It was our wedding anniversary and our daughter phoned (unknown to us) and asked the hotel if they do anything...much to our surprise a Wedding Anniversary Balloon and a lovely bottle of chilled vino on arrival with a lovely words from the staff. Thanks Abode, Canterbury, such a lovely touch.
We didn't eat in the restaurant at night but the breakfast was to die for. Perfectly freshly cooked. Lovely 4*hotel worth a visit and Canterbury is an amazing location to dander about. Both wee treasures.

Second visit here on a trip to Canterbury to see Northern ballet at the nearby Marlowe theatre.

We stayed for two nights in a ‘desirable’ room. The hotel itself is plumb on the high street so great for all that Canterbury has to offer with the Cathedral and other attractions all nearby. There is a car park but you pay £14 a day for this: which is steep. The hotel also has a small but handy gym.

The hotel is nearly four star and I say that given the room we had though a decent size for the bedroom had a very small bathroom, had no minibar and had quite a small wardrobe that you had to negotiate around in the tight area by the door. It did however have good tea and coffee facilities. The room was also very quiet given the central location as we where set back from the front of the hotel.

Breakfast-wise the food is cooked to order so its good when it arrives but on our first morning we arrived for breakfast at 9.15 am and the food arrived at 9.55 am. I think the staff know this is a problem as on the second morning the waiter said ‘let’s order your food with the coffee and you won’t wait too long’.

There is a nice champagne bar at the front of the hotel and though as others say you can wait a while to be served it’s a nice place to spend a chilled few hours and also finish the day with late eve drinks.

Throughout our stay all the staff were very friendly and helpful: couldn’t fault them.

We paid £200 a night for our room, so honestly they need to up the game at that level.
