“Provided everything we needed”

The Old Tractor Barn is a smallish modern house set back slightly from a track which itself leads off a smallish road into the pretty Hampshire village of Sparsholt.

The track is very quiet as it leads up to some stables - then peters out to a path leading up to the wonderful walking/running/cycling area that is Farley Mount - so the only things likely to disturb you is the dawn chorus I suspect....

The cottage is well appointed with all things you'd expect in your own home - we wanted for nothing. The kitchen has a good set of appliances.

Upstairs the bedrooms fitted us perfectly we are a family of 2 adults and 3 children and we were very comfortable.

The welcoming basket of goodies (see one of the pictures) is a really nice touch - I haven't indulged in clotted cream for a long time - so it was a nice holiday thing to do.

Liked best: It was exactly as advertised
Liked least: I would possibly have the shower water a little warmer - but a small gripe in the scheme of things

“Looking forward to staying again”
Reviewed 28 January 2015 for a stay in January 2015

We took a three night break at very short notice, and yet the house was impeccably clean, warm and inviting, and a very useful welcome pack was, well, very welcome. Our hostess, too, was very welcoming. The house is quietly located down a turning off the lane through the village. That lane is usually very quiet, but rather less so at commuting times.
The village has a small shop that packs a lot into a small space, and a pub (The Plough) that serves excellent food, and rather than try to suss Winchester's complicated road network in the dark we ate there every night. Unheard of for us, but we did!

I must also say we both remarked on how nice the drinking water tasted at the house. From the Test valley? But yummy.

Overall, strongly recommended, and we want to go back soon..

“Very comfortable and welcoming accommodation.”
Reviewed 4 November 2014 for a stay in October 2014

Myself, husband and our friend spent four days at the Old Tractor Barn in Sparsholt in October to visit family in the area. The cottage was warm, clean and very well equipped, also the welcome pack and fresh flowers was a lovely touch. It was also a bonus to have onsite parking and a private garden. Debbie the owner welcomed us to the area and her property, checking we were comfortable - another lovely touch, thank you. Our only disappointment was that we hadn't found the Old Tractor Barn before, however, we will be back. A lovely property so near Winchester with lovely walks in the area.

Excellent location, brilliant amenities, beautifully clean, good wifi, unexpected welcome basket and fresh cut flowers on arrival, many toiletries and kitchen condiments supplied.
Good location for a teenage family with a variety of historical attractions to visit. Not only will I recommend it but we fully intend to stay again next year.
