Stayed on 7/8 and was asked to pay £10 for parking. Charged me £72 for room when already paid by my travel company.

Complaints process not helpful. Hotel was good but double charging for room is not acceptable.

Have lodged complaint with bank as Accor don't seem to care.

We arrived by train late at night but I had done my homework and knew exactly how to manage the short walk to the Ibis. With 2 of us, 2 large rolling bags + carry on, we were just fine.
The room was basic but good enough, facing the waterfront (couldn't see much though) The bed was very firm but we must have been tired because sleep came easily.
The next morning we took a very brisk walk around Southampton...probably 3-4kms. I thought we'd find a nice coffee shop, bakery, or similar for breakfast but it was strangely deserted all over with no obvious businesses open for tourists. So we came back to Ibis and had their buffet. Husband had 'hot' option, I had 'continental'. It seems to run on an honour basis though as it's all self serve and when you're done you tell the front desk & they add it to the bill.
Our ship was docked at the Mayflower Terminal. We could see her from the hotel but it was not walkable. We called a cab from the lobby and it was pretty efficient, maybe 5 mins from pick up to drop off and only 6 pounds.

Then Hotel was clean and the Room was lovely. Bed was comfortable. Stayed for 2 nights. McDonalds 2 minutes walk away . Town Centre 5 minutes . Would Highly Recommend. There is a great Shopping Centre and so convenient.

I recently stayed at the IBIS in Southampton whilst attending the boat show. The staff seemed well prepared for the large influx of people staying the area for the boat show. The check-in was very efficient and the receptionist Radoslaw was very friendly, polite and went the extra mile by offering information on activities that were available to do in the local area whilst we were visiting. The room was clean, tidy and exceeded my husbands and my expectations. During the evening we dinned in the restaurant and i had the chicken pasta and my husband had the 4 cheese pizza the meals very delicious and arrived after a short wait of only 20 minutes. After a comfortable nights sleep we had breakfast and what can i say, they had a superb choice of different breads to cater for all tastes my husband enjoyed olive bread with his freshly cooked full English breakfast whilst i enjoyed with sun dried tomato bread with preserves and cereal. All in all this was a fantastic start to our holiday before we had even set foot on the cruise ship as the IBIS seems to cater for all guests needs.

Room Tip: Higher floor have a view for harbor

Hotel is located virtually on the doorstep of Southampton Central station and alongside a Novotel and an ibis budget, all part of the same chain. I would guess this is supposed to sit in the middle of the range in terms of quality as well as geography but it felt very much at the budget end.

We were only staying for one night during the cricket test match and the hotel was quite full as there were also a number of cruise ships turning over while we were there. We had 2 twin rooms and both were very small with even smaller bathrooms - our sink didn’t drain and in the other room the shower soaked everything other than the person standing under it!

Breakfast was extra at £8.95 making the room rate effectively £126 which I wouldn’t really call budget price but it was a very budget experience.
