I have visited this attraction many times with my mother and grandchildren and am pleased to see some changes. I always feel sorry for the otters and feel its never really the right place for them. Many of the interactive information points don't work but still much to see . Is looking a bit tired in parts. There is a outside area for children to play and families to sit but there is no shade which would be great on a blistering sunny day. Staff friendly but mainly stay in reception so available for us to ask questions. The childrens room for parties could be a lot more interesting but there is usually some colouring for children to do. There is of course a gift shop "via the exit" . Parking near by , chip shop next door and a café . It is expensive but you have your hand stamped which allows for re entry.

Having read the leaflet about the aquarium we had high expectations. We were expecting a lovely well maintained place with an outside beach area for our little granddaughter to play. We were so disappointed the whole place need some serious updating, very shabby paintwork and quite grubby. We were given a feeding schedule for the fish which turned out to be completely wrong so we hung around for quite a few minutes before one of the staff told us it was wrong! The outside beach area was a mess and not suitable for a young child to play in. All in all we wasted our money and it’s certainly not cheap.

Took my Grandaughter to the Aquarium on her inset day and what a disappointing trip it was, we could have been in and out in less than an hour. The place needs a good clean and revamping. Not much information on the creatures that are in there I think the largest and best keep display is the shop on the way out . Sadly overpriced for what is in there you can go back on the same day for a second visit with your hand stamped but I question why would you want to !! The outside play area is as run down as the rest of it. Have to be honest this could be a fabulous asset to Southsea but at the moment it is really not worth a visit !!

Very wheelchair friendly, have been many a times & never disappointed.
My brother has special needs and
loves anything to do with the sea.
It’s small but has lots of fish. Fantastic fantastic day out. You can go round as many times as you like or come & go all day!

Blue Reef is a lovely little aquarium. It has many fish of all sizes and colours. There is a tunnel you walk through with Fish swimming above your head which the children loved. They have sea horses and turtles and 3 otters. It is wheelchair friendly as everything is on one level.

There are photo's of Dolphins on the wall with facts so the children got excited thinking they would see a Dolphin but they don't have any there.

I took children aged 8 and they loved looking at all the fish. We got through it in just over half hour as they looked at all the fish rather than read about them lol.

It's pretty impressive seeing all the different species. It is mainly fish with a few crabs and turtles and the 3 Otters so if you don't like fish it's probably not the place for you. Older children I think would be bored.

There is a little play park for small children half way round outside. There is a Cafe which looks nice, we didn't eat there though so I can't comment on it.

All in all it was a good little trip for the children and it wasn't very busy which was good.
