I was disappointed with this hotel, the rooms were basic, pillows lumpy, windows did not shut properly, shower leaked, there were no deadlocks on the door, and there was no soap in the bathroom.

Staff were nice and helpful.

Stayed: September 2016

Hi thank you for your review, just to clarify all our doors have dead locks, you just lift the door handle.

We stayed here for 2 nights, the staff were very helpful and accommodating doing their best for the customers but they were very busy and they do work very long hours. We stayed there for the Goodwood Revival. The Inn does need a bit of updating and TLC, we had an issue with a room which was promptly sorted but it should not have arisen in the first place. Saying that we would stay again but be careful which rooms we stay in. The breakfast was plentiful for both the Continental and cooked and good value. Nice bar and option to eat the Hungry Horse menu in the hotel bar/restaurant which is also good value and tasty. Note-you have to pay for breakfast at reception then take the receipt to the restaurant to get your food.

Booked 2 nights in Sept & although a little further out of town than expected we had a great stay.
All Staff members were exceptional.
Very comfy bed & clean throughout.

Only issue was tired bathroom.... definitely in need of work !!

Would happily Stay again.

Room Tip: Suites with Sofas are great :)

We took two rooms booked 2 days before our stay. The friendly service at our late check in was welcome, but no hot water less so. That there was still no hot water 8 hours later when we woke up is fairly inexcusable.

Overall a £49 per night type of place charging well above its value.

We recently stayed here to go to the Victorious festival. The hotel was clean and the room was very big (we stayed in 228). The bed was super comfortable and we had everything we needed, such as tv, free wifi and a hairdryer. The staff were friendly, polite and very helpful. The hotel has a function room and whilst we were there we heard lots of noise from the wedding receptions that were taking place. It could also be quite noisy outside at night, as people would be waiting for taxi's or just standing outside smoking and chatting. The location wasn't great, as it took around 20 minutes in a taxi to get to Southsea sea front, which typically cost us between £8 and £10 per journey - so £16 to £20 a day in travel. We didn't travel by car, but there is a car park if you have need to park. Overall I was happy with the hotel, however I would look for somewhere closer to the action if I were to stay in Portsmouth again.

Room Tip: We stayed at the front of the hotel which was quite noisy. It might be better to stay at the back
