Clair was an excellent guide as we toured around the Cotswolds looking at cottages.

Lots of thatched roofs and flower gardens... The Secret Cottage was darling and there were lots of treats - don’t eat breakfast and you won’t need dinner reservations afterwards. All local English cakes, tarts, cookies as well as meat pasties and other tea sandwiches.

The kitchen and living areas at the cottage were full of history. Built in the 16th century but updated living today, Polly our hostess spread an amazing table of traditional English goodies.

Our trip to the Cotswolds was greatly enhanced and more memorable because of this tour!

You really must do this tour if you are in the Cotswolds - it is a truly wonderful experience to be invited into a privately owned Cotswold thatched cottage, and be served the most wonderful food by Becky who lives there - which you can eat it the gorgeous garden.

You get the most delicious food - an extensive buffet for morning coffee / tea, lunch, and afternoon tea / coffee.

Inbetween times you get driven to various locations to see interesting villages in the surrounding area - including (in my opinion) one of the most beautiful.

I would wholeheartedly recommend this tour and would take it again if I was in the area. Book early though - places get snapped up quickly and rightly so!

I have traveled quite extensively, and this “day” was by far, one of the best travel experiences ever. From the moment we were picked up, to the moment we were dropped off, everything was well planned and executed. Claire extended a piece of history at every turn in the road and enabled us to experience the area by walking through the beautiful countryside.

The table spread was incredibly delicious, as was the hospitality. Being able to experience tea, lunch, and a second snack (delicious desserts) in a private cottage was truly a memorable visit.

As a woman traveling alone, I took great comfort with the instructions for getting to and from the Cotswolds to meet the group, all, were spot on.

Thanks for the memories!

Becky Simpson and the Secret Cottage crew provide a unique small group tour of the Cotswolds, traveling on roads where no big tour bus can navigate. The thatched-roof cottages are something to see. Since she actually owns one, we're given the opportunity to not only see the inside but to have morning coffee, lunch and afternoon tea, breaking up the various itineraries driven by her and partner Claire in small Mercedes vans.

They pick us up @ Moreton in Marsh train station at a specific time of morning arrival from London's Paddington Station and deliver us back for the return to London in late afternoon. Altogether, a unique and wonderful day.

Our tour guide Claire was witty and informative, the sites visited were fascinating, and the food was sumptuous. We enjoyed the intimacy of the tour.
