“Lovely house in a beautiful location”
Reviewed 18 November 2014 for a stay in November 2014

We stayed at Nethercote House this weekend and had a wonderful time. There were 12 of us in total and the house was more than big enough for us all! We were welcomed with a basket of goodies for the weekend, wine, jam, bread, bacon, milk etc which we thought was a really nice touch.

The kitchen/dining room is huge with a fantastic range cooker. The living room was big enough for all 12 of us to cosy up in. There is also another smaller living room at the front of the house. The bedrooms were very well decorated and very comfortable. There are three bathrooms in the house so plenty for us all.

The village is a short walk away. We hired a bus to take us to Cheltenham racecourse on one of the days which isn't too far away.

The owner Michael is really friendly and helpful and the whole thing couldn't have gone more smoothly.

We would definitely recommend this cottage and will hopefully be staying there again!

“Exceptionally high standard, you won't be disappointed”
Reviewed 10 November 2014 for a stay in November 2014

We stayed here for the weekend with friends to celebrate my 50th birthday. It's very pretty, spacious, lovely interior and comfy beds. Would be lovely in the summer too as the garden and outside seating area is great. It's only a short walk into town. Bourton is very pretty. I would highly recommend the property. Michael is attentive and quick to respond to emails. I rated poor for the key access only because it was dark when we arrived and we had not been told where to find the key box prior to arrival. It is very much tucked away. I'm sure Michael will ensure this doesn't happen in the future!

“A great base for an extended family half term holiday”
Reviewed 31 October 2014 for a stay in October 2014

We have just spent a delightful week en famille ( aged 3 - 65!) in this very comfortable and well equipped house. It is ideally situated to walk into very picturesque Bourton and its wonderful selection of independent shops and eating places and to several visitor attractions in the immediate vicinity ( Birdland, Butterfly Maze, Motor Museum, to name but a few). The house and garden are large and provided ample room for all family members and some space between them when needed! The master bedroom is amazing! There are excellent facilities in the very modern kitchen and the utility areas which are very sizeable. The breakfast bar was a great 1000 piece jigsaw base!!! Tastefully furnished throughout, this is a lovely house to stay in. It has access to the garden through French doors onto a patio with tables and seating. Can imagine this is great in the summer but October didn't allow us to make use of this facility unfortunately! Highly recommended.

“Excellent Place to Live in the Cotswolds”

We stayed at Nethercote House for 3 nights this week. My family and extended family. 13 in all including 4 children. Excellent place. Large, spacious, well done. Beautiful kitchen and dining area. Lovely backyard. A games room with table tennis and foosball. About a 10-minute walk to the town centre of Bourton-on-the-Water. Just lovely.
The only reason I'm not giving this holiday rental a 5 is this: On the day we arrived we noticed a bad smell in the loft. Like vomit. We're speculating that the previous renters probably messed up. We called Mike, the owner. He promptly drove in from Cheltenham perhaps and did his best to address the issue. Inspected and sprayed the place. So full marks to him for being as responsive as possible. But the smell persisted so we didn't use the loft during out stay.
Other than this minor issue our stay at Nethercote House was excellent. Highly recommend it.

“Absolutely superb”

I organised a weekend stay at Nethercote House for my sisters hen party. It was an stunning house with a lovely, homely feel. Situated in the heart of Bourton on the Water, the setting couldn't have been more idyllic. The kitchen and bathrooms were to a very high standard, and all the beds, I'm told, were very comfortable. Liaising with Michael, the owner, was an absolute pleasure. I highly recommend a visit.
