On the edge of Tiptree the Jam Museum and Tea Rooms are very nice. Good attentive service and lovely scones with clotted cream and . . . Wilkins Jams.

Have just pulled out of the car park feeling disappointed and annoyed. Terrible customer service and quite frankly don’t know wether I will be back, we where shown to a dirty table, at 14.40.
Knowing that hot food finished at 15.00, after having to remind the waitress twice to come and service us she finally strolled over at 15.05 after being seated for nearly half an hour.
She then informed us that it’s passed 1500 so the lunch offering isn’t available. If we had been served to begin with this wouldn’t of happened, also a little smile would of helped and being a little more apologetic. Then maybe we would of left a bit differently.
I understand the you have a deadline for lunch but when we have sat there for almost 30 minutes quite frankly that isn’t my problem.
We travelled from Rayleigh 45 minutes away because we like the tea rooms. And after today will not be coming back.

We were left waiting to be seated for ages and ages, being ignored by several members of staff despite there being half a dozen available tables. We were made to feel that our custom was not valued. The food was ok but nothing special considering the prices.
We do not intend to return.

Lovely tea rooms & museum. Went to the strawberry open day which is once a year. This is the time you can sample the different types of strawberry grown in this special place & also try the various jams & liquoirs etc before you buy. They also on this day have a vintage bus ride or you can take the tractor ride around the whole estate of the fruit fields etc. Very interesting & the kids love it. Still a good place to stop anytime though for a cuppa & a look around. Plenty of free parking.

Thank Robert T
