“A Tudor Treat”
Reviewed 30 April 2016 for a stay in April 2016

A friend and I stayed at this lovely characterful cottage that was well equipped, situated near the beautiful church square at the top of Rye Citadel. Rye is a great place to explore, full of charming gift shops and great places to eat, plus there are plenty of castles nearby to explore. Parking can be tricky, I would recommend travelling by train or taking a small car. We did manage to get parked on the road near the house sometimes but otherwise its a 10 minute walk to a public car park.

Liked best: The character of the cottage
Liked least: The bedding, duvet too thin would have been good to have had a blanket. Cotton bedding needed for a 4 star property

“Lovely property!”
Reviewed 3 September 2015 for a stay in August 2015

The Flushing House is like stepping back to a bygone era it's simply wonderful.

Irene was a delight to deal with and nothing was too much trouble.

The only things you could pick up are the stairs could be tricky for the elderly / less able and the shower downstairs is a little cramped if you're over 6 foot in height but they're in keeping with the age and uniqueness of the property and utterly charming regardless.

All in all a wonderful weekend.

“Wonderful house and a wonderful town”
Reviewed 4 February 2015 for a stay in January 2015

Had a three night break here with friends, we completely loved the house and the town. Cosy and quaint, and very pleasant owners. Would definitely recommend it if you're looking for a relaxed spell away.

“Oustandingly comfortable and well appointed”
Reviewed 25 August 2014 for a stay in July 2014

The accommodation and welcome we received from the owners who live next door exceeded our expectations. Our short stay (two married couples) was memorable and trouble-free. We'd happily recommend this to friends and would love to return when the opportunity comes. Fine restaurants within easy walking distance too.

“Perfect house in a perfect place”
Reviewed 13 April 2014 for a stay in March 2014

A lovely stay in a house so well preserved with its history there to be seen. We arrived prepared to be a little chilly in such a historic house but were not for a moment, the house is very warm and comfortable, immaculately and sensitively updated and decorated, and very well equipped. Lovely welcome from the owners who are right there if needed. The situation is perfect, with shops, several very nice (and dog friendly) pub restaurants and the Ypres tower right on the doorstep. Parking down in the lower car park was necessary on most days but was a five minute walk at most through the town which was a pleasure in itself. We thoroughly enjoyed ourselves and wished we'd booked for two weeks instead of one, did not want to leave. Lovely base from which to explore Rye and the surrounding area. We'd particularly recommend very nearby Wichelsea beach for dog owners as a quiet and easy place to walk off the lead while enjoying the view. (And pop into the deli hidden inside the Ship Inn on the way, particularly if you want to take home some locally bred salt marsh lamb.)
