“Wonderful house and a wonderful town”
Reviewed 4 February 2015 for a stay in January 2015

Had a three night break here with friends, we completely loved the house and the town. Cosy and quaint, and very pleasant owners. Would definitely recommend it if you're looking for a relaxed spell away.

“Oustandingly comfortable and well appointed”
Reviewed 25 August 2014 for a stay in July 2014

The accommodation and welcome we received from the owners who live next door exceeded our expectations. Our short stay (two married couples) was memorable and trouble-free. We'd happily recommend this to friends and would love to return when the opportunity comes. Fine restaurants within easy walking distance too.

“Perfect house in a perfect place”
Reviewed 13 April 2014 for a stay in March 2014

A lovely stay in a house so well preserved with its history there to be seen. We arrived prepared to be a little chilly in such a historic house but were not for a moment, the house is very warm and comfortable, immaculately and sensitively updated and decorated, and very well equipped. Lovely welcome from the owners who are right there if needed. The situation is perfect, with shops, several very nice (and dog friendly) pub restaurants and the Ypres tower right on the doorstep. Parking down in the lower car park was necessary on most days but was a five minute walk at most through the town which was a pleasure in itself. We thoroughly enjoyed ourselves and wished we'd booked for two weeks instead of one, did not want to leave. Lovely base from which to explore Rye and the surrounding area. We'd particularly recommend very nearby Wichelsea beach for dog owners as a quiet and easy place to walk off the lead while enjoying the view. (And pop into the deli hidden inside the Ship Inn on the way, particularly if you want to take home some locally bred salt marsh lamb.)

“Tudor meets the 21st Century - utterly unique”
Reviewed 10 February 2014 for a stay in February 2014

Rye is steeped in history and staying at the Flushing House makes sure you are well and truly steeped. Unless you have stayed here it is difficult to imagine a house that was built in the early 16th century being full of the modern requirements of the 21st century - but it is and that is its charm. From the Tudor period we have the black oak beams, the giant ancient floorboards, the staircase, the baker's oven and so on. From the 21st century we have the microwave, the flat screen TV, WiFi and shower. Rye is the most incredible example of aTudor town. There are too many ancient buildings to list here but suffice to say you'll be kept busy on that front. The owners are brilliant too and provide a depth of service and friendliness that is so rare in this day and age. Do you and your family and/or friends a favour and book some time away to stay at this historic house you'll be amazed.
