We booked this hotel following a search on the "best loved hotels" website and chose it because it had a pool. Obviously we understand the recent covid restrictions but this would mean that the pool was temporarily closed and not permanently closed as advised by the hotel via email only 3 days before our stay. There was no highlight of this on their website when we booked. We will also be informing the best loved site of their misleading and erroneous information. The room we booked was a deluxe double room (room 20) and was exactly as described except for the view which was of the car park. There was a "balcony" door which opened onto decking behind parked cars. The space was quiet and comfortable but did not fit with the wording deluxe. In addition it is obvious that new guests thought this was the rear entrance into the hotel and tried to use the door, hence the broken bolts on the inside. This could be easily resolved with a notice provided by the hotel on the door window pointing to the correct, difficult to find, entry point. We have stayed in several classy hotels and not so classy guest houses and have never until our stay here been given greasy burnt streaky bacon with a full English breakfast. Back bacon is the expected choice? This happened on every morning of our stay and was both surprising and disappointing. That said the staff were pleasant and the bed was the most comfortable we have had in a long time. We do not expect to return despite the offer of a discount on our next stay.

Room tip: Asking for a high floor at the front of the hotel should hopefully provide a nice view

We had a two night stay for our wedding anniversary. We were allocated the Attic Suite, which was very pleasant and quite quiet. A light airy room with a seating area and a seperate bedroom but be aware of some low ceilings as you are up in the eaves. Steep stairs from the first landing.Wonderful views across the town salts towards the river and surrounding countryside. The hotel is ideally situated for wandering around town. The dinner menu was limited, which was disappointing , however what we did have was excellent (Frito misto and pizza) Breakfast was lovely, freshly cooked and a decent choice. The car park is a real bonus.
All staff were friendly, polite and helpful. Service was excellent across the board. Would definitely return

We had a fabulous stay at Rye Lodge - beautiful room, with en suite really comfortable bed. Very friendly and helpful staff, we had pizza on the terrace which was very pleasant. We couldn't have asked for more. We will definitely stay again when we are n Rye!

What we really want from a hotel is a clean quiet room with a comfortable bed and an en-suite. And that's what we got! Add in very friendly staff plus a comfortable bar for a night cap and a location near the town and restaurants and what more could you want? Breakfast? Yep, that was included and very nice too.

We booked this due to the location which is perfect. I was a bit put off from some of the reviews but honestly from my own experience I can’t fault the hotel at all. We had a front room number 7 which was great. Plenty of room space, beautiful views and full of character. Breakfast was good too just had to book a slot due to Covid. Car park at the back of the hotel £5 per day which is reasonable and a plus too. The only concern is the ill fitting windows and I can imagine in the winter must cost a fortune to heat hence not energy friendly at all.
