Good option for town centre

4.0 of 5 bubblesReviewed 12 Oct 2024
Great staff, very good value room and location and an outstanding breakfast. But the evening meal is probably only for if you are so tired that you can't be bothered to go elsewhere - although the steak was good - or if you are seduced by the price for a meal and breakfast.

Quiet and comfortable. The room was clean. The staff were friendly and helpful. Breakfast was freshly cooked. Within walking distance from train station. Saturday farmers market right outside was a nice surprise. Very central to the town and amenities

As fairly regular users of Premier Inns we appreciate the usual standard but the Lewes Premier was not so good. We had room No.105 which was a little on the tired side and the bathroom was not great. It sounded like there was some kind of stock room above us with constant footsteps on a hard floor and things being dragged about. This happened most of the day, in the very early hours, and also way past midnight. It was hardly worth watching the room TV as it had very few stations on it

The shower curtain rail was hanging loosely which meant the curtain kept sliding away from the shower end, leaving a gap and flooding the floor. The extractor fan was not working so the bathroom was constantly steamed up.

The staff were fine but generally seemed always to be at full stretch and the girl at check in did not speak good English

    Room tip: Avoid Room 105

Having booked 3 rooms for a wedding in September we arrived to a very desolate reception, screen was hard to check in. We already knew carpark was next to useless because we were only allowed to park for a certain amount of time and there was also a farmers market on the Saturday. This did cause a certain amount of hassle moving the car especially at 6am in the morning! We forgot to say on the Saturday that we wanted the three rooms cleaned so when we got back from the wedding we had no clean towels etc. I feel having paid top dollar for the deluxe rooms it should have been done anyway. Continental breakfast was ok but no meats or cheese. Staff were pleasant when you could see one, rooms were very comfortable and got a decent nights sleep.

Room tip: Check car park details before you go off exploring!

We had a Brewery Tour booked for Harvey's Brewery & wanted somewhere to stay for 1 night, because there was Drinking involved. The Premier Inn was just around the corner from the Brewery & there was also a Car Park, which made it Ideal. We got to Lewes just after the 3pm Check in. Nice Helpful Staff on Reception, said, Pay the £1.80 to Park for the Rest of the Afternoon & then Pay £1.80 the Next Morning to see you through Breakfast & have a couple of Hours to have a Walk around Lewes. All in All, a Very Good Time.
