Georgian Apartment is a very comfortable, spacious and nicely appointed and decorated apartment in an amazing historical building and the location is perfect and views sensational. The owner was lovely. Efficient, prompt and friendly. Her caretaker Katrina was delightful and very helpful. The Welcome Gifts were very generous. A lovely gesture. The apartment is in historically significant Pelham Crescent and parking is across the road in the huge Public Pay and Park. We never had difficulties with availability of parking and at arrival immediately went to the Council office a few doors down and the very helpful and interested staff advised us buying a week's ticket - unlimited entry and exit - was the cheapest option. I think it was £34 and it was worth it over the daily rate for our 4 day stay.
There was some effort required at arrival hefting our suitcases across the road and up the road's ramp to the front door then up a few flights of stairs and reversing this at departure but all worth it for location and view we thought.
The kitchen was modern, user friendly and it was great to have a washing machine. Light, airy and spacious lounge/dining room. Wifi. Comfy chairs. Loved balcony and opportunity to sit out. Pretty bedroom with comfy bed. Large hairdryer. Good bathroom with bath/shower.
There are a lot of stairs from front door to apartment door, a given with age and style of the building. We just decided it was our fitness workout.
We bought groceries from Iceland a few doors down and cooked all dinners. Had a fantastic roast lunch at the pub - The Duke of Havelock, in the town centre. Another amazing and interesting old building too.
Hastings exceeded our expectations of what a lovely place it is in it's own right and our stay in Georgian Apartment was special. We were kindly shown thru St. Mary's in the Castle, the former church slap bang in the middle of the Pelham Crescent buildings, by the lovely Cafe/Art Gallery staff. Wow. We went to Battle and Rye easily and they are gorgeous but the Hastings Old Town area and the Old High Street itself brimming with beautiful old houses and never-ending Antique and Bric-a-Brac shops was wonderful to stroll around. The Foyle's War connection to Hastings also worth delving into. We enjoyed return trips on both the funiculars. Highly recommend.
We visited Hastings and stayed at this apartment for 3 nights in January 2017. Excellent communication from owner who we also met for the keys to the apartment. The location is excellent- the apartment is in an old Georgian building ,and we parked in the car park opposite it. There are some steps up to the apartment, its up a couple of floors but we found them fine. The apartment is well laid out, there is a beautiful bedroom, good sized kitchen and bathroom, and lounge, with sofas and dining room table, and the doors open out onto a balcony, with just an amazing view- over the sea, Hastings pier, and the waterfront. We loved people watching from the balcony, and the apartment is located in old town Hastings, which is where you can find some great quirky shops, cafes, and of course things like crazy golf, etc. Its also well worth going on the pier too. They also have wifi, which is very handy! Great holiday.
We hired a bike and cycled from Hastings to Eastbourne. From there we walked to the famous lighthouse called "Beachy Head".
