This is a proper pub with a great selection of real ales and other drinks . Great staff and able to hold a conversation. It is adeptly situated in the old town part of Hastings. Worth calling in for a drink if you like a proper pub and not a restaurant selling food

The Jenny always has a good selection of well kept draught ales. The bar is quite extensive and at quieter times one can easily find a seat. The bar is very popular when bands / artists are playing and seating is then at a premium. However, the atmosphere at such gigs is good and worth attending for that reason. A good supporter of local bands and musicians.

We popped in for a pint of 'real ale' and ended up staying till late in the evening because of the fabulous atmosphere. A 'live band' (Pass The Cat) played a variety of music including cover versions as well as their own music. The clientele ranged in age, though luckily for us the majority were aged 30+
They had a promotional ‘sticker’ per half pint purchased, with the reward being a complimentary half pint once the card was full.
All members of the bar staff were personable and friendly and we’ll definitely return.

Impressive selection of hand pulled beers and staff that know how to serve them! Great music venue too! One of my favourite haunts in the old town.

This is a truly amazing old-school pub. There were ten different real ales available when I visited on an ordinary mid-week evening. The bar billiards was in full swing and the background music was mainly traditional folk. This is what Hastings is all about!

These points alone would be enough to tempt me back again, but the added bonus is the people working here. Unusually, they are willing to strike up a conversation with a complete stranger like me and share a joke or two. All very unusual in modern times. Another thing you are unlikely to find elsewhere is the elderly character on a stool at the bar. There is a sign next to his location stating that it is reserved for his sole use. Obviously a regular character and well respected by the other pub regulars. A very kind gesture by the management.
