“Steam trains & beaches”
Reviewed 13 July 2015 for a stay in June 2015

This property is located just outside the town's parking restrictions which is why parking can be a bit restricted. Usually easy to find space for one car near the property but two can be difficult. This is where the rear garage comes into its own although the access is quite narrow and fidly.
It is well appointed with good decor except for the kitchen extension which had peeling paintwork. Well stocked with kitchen equipment and towels with an easy to use washing machine. Also has 2 TVs downstairs and one in each of the double bedrooms. Good wifi. If on the top floor the three flights of stairs will keep you fit. Small garden with furniture and fully enclosed so small children are safe. A variety of extra equipment such as beach spades and buckets if needed.
Beach was 15-20 minutes walk with small children (2 & 4 yrs) but advantage of a busy steam railway and play park on the route to keep them occupied. Two supermarkets (Co-op & Budgens) plus other small food shops at 15-20 minutes walk. Otherwise need to go to Poole or Wareham.
Unfortunately not that clean on arrival (crumbs in toaster, and barbecue not cleaned at all) and one bathroom was unusuable because of the smell even and still present after 1 week. Owner and cleaning service failed to solve during our stay so the remaining bathroom was a bit busy in the mornings for 6.
Also all payments via cheque or bank transfer (so outside website guarantee scheme). However all went ok and deposit returned promptly.
Swanage was great when the sun shines. Less to do it it rains - we found minature village in Corfe and the acquarium in Bournmouth were good.

“Excellent”
Reviewed 8 August 2014 for a stay in July 2014

A lovely, spacious, well presented house. There were 8 family members in our party and this house had more than enough to accommodate us. The ages ranged from 45 years to 13 months. We were able to walk to the beach and shops which took approx 10 minutes. We would definitely stay here again when in Swanage. A great holiday...

“The Sandcastle - Swanage- perfect for a family holiday.”
Reviewed 24 July 2014 for a stay in July 2014

The Sandcastle has been fitted out beautifully as a holiday rental. Everything you need for a family even down to buckets, spades and crab lines (didn't catch one!) More TV sets than necessary but that's just me. The whole house and garden were comfy and plenty big enough for 8 and you didn't have to be on top of one another. Our cooks weren't taken with the cooker but hey, it worked. Parking on street was never a problem, 10 mins walk from town and beach. And of course Swanage is just fab. The railway, the beach, Corfe Castle, the Purbecks. What a dream place.

“Excellent accommodation”
Reviewed 1 July 2014 for a stay in May 2014

This is the second time we have stayed at The Sandcastle and have already booked again for next year! The location is excellent for local shops, beach and train even with young children. The house is excellently equipped throughout and beautifully clean and tidy and still suitable for young children (having travelled with children between 8 months and 5 years old.) The outside area is great and we enjoyed a BBQ whilst there!! I would highly recommend this to others as a great holiday let, you will be very comfortable and in a great position for all amenities with the addition of lots of parking.

“Stunning house - beautifully appointed”

Our usual place that we rent in Studland was booked so we took a punt on this place as the pictures online looked nice and there were some good reviews already on Tripadvisor. It's a redbrick suburban row house which looks well looked after. Internally the house is beautifully appointed . Very tastefully decorated lounge at the front with Plasma & DVD. Very comfy sofas. The kitchen has everything you could possibly need - and a really comfy sofa/sitting area off the kitchen. Bedrooms & bathroom look brand new - again tastefully done - and obviously not skimped on. Beds very comfortable. Very quiet street too - slept much better than I do at home! Neighbours lovely - even going to the trouble of loaning iPhone charger and helping with rubbish!

We had an absolutely lovely stay and will now make this our first choice rental in our trips to Purbeck. Absolutely loved this place - highly recommended.
