We were in room 211 on second floor, lovely room with great view of the Isle of Wight across to Swannage. The room was very comfortable with a double and single bed. Really comfortable beds with a good bathroom, and immaculate. The hotel staff were very friendly and helpful, everything at breakfast was very good. A good range of hot and cold food served at very nice tables with helpful staff. The pool and jacuzzi complex was very quiet when we were there which we used on both days. Plenty of parking and very close to a beautiful beach at Allum Chine. All in all we had another very comfortable stay (this was our third stay in past 9 months), I would reccommend this hotel to anyone, couples or families, looking for a comfortable good value, smart hotel.

Room Tip: we have stayed in room 202 and room 211 on second floor, both quiet and with balconies with sea view.

We stayed for 1 night with 2 children & 2 small dogs. The room was ok-pretty standard & could do with updating. Noisy people staying above us (but this is not the hotel's fault). Staff are very friendly & helpful. We used the pool & sauna facilities which was lovely - looks recently renovated - lovely shower (much better than the one in the room) - but only one- so have to wait to use! Nice lounge area with a bar & v good entertainment room with a wii, board games & pool table. Breakfast was to a high standard- good quality food & a good variety (although I would have liked some mushrooms & soya milk). Its a few minutes walk down to beach which is nice & not too busy. A pleasant stroll along the beach promenade to the main Bournemouth Pier. We have stayed here before back in 2005 & did't realise that we'd actually re-picked the same hotel. Would we recommend it? - yes definitely.

Room Tip: pet & child friendly

We understand the importance of entertaining all members of the family so it is lovely to hear that you all enjoyed your stay. Regarding breakfast, soya milk is available upon request. We stayed for three nights. When we arrived we had a warm welcome from reception and went straight to our room. The hall way outside our room smelt of sick but this was the only real problem that we had other than the cot. If you have a travel cot I suggest you take it. Our baby ended up sleeping in his pram the whole time as he screamed every time he went in the cot provided. The plastic handle to put the cot up, which is under the mattress, he found very uncomfortable. The room was a perfect size for us. I wish I hadn't dressed for the cold as the hotel was always very warm. Breakfast was lovely. The view of the sea from the bar and restaurant was nice. The food in the restaurant was amazing but wasn't very filling but the cheese board for dessert filled us up and was really tasty too. The food in the bar was very filling and was also amazing. The swimming pool was a perfect size. The changing rooms only have one private changing area but there is a toilet in the hall which can be used and also helps when changing a baby. The staff were all lovely and very helpful. Our room was not cleaned till the afternoon so the second day we stayed out till after two. The hotel is in a perfect location near to the sea front and it was a nice walk down to the town. We caught the train back on the sea front as it was very windy and the sand was blinding. It is a steep walk down to the sea front so wear appropriate shoes. All in all we had a lovely time and the hotel was a nice place to stop bar the sick smell outside our room the first day

Thank you for taking the time to leave a review. I am delighted to hear that you enjoyed most aspects of your stay. I'm sorry to hear that your baby didn't take to our cots too well- I will have this looked at to see if it is something we can rectify for future guests. We hope we can welcome you and your family back again soon for another break.

Kind regards

Lovely Easter break. Very friendly staff, excellent food and location very handy for exploring. Despite the weather being dreadful we couldn't fault anything. The leisure facilties are lovely. Overall very good value for money.

Room Tip: Set up a hill so people with walking problems might struggle with the location its down hill to the promenade which takes about 10 mins.

Why why why? Family room booked because we have a CHILD. Room directly above disco, 9 year old can't sleep. It's 11.00pm all very tired and wound up. Won't come here again!! Bad room planning. No where to park. Toenail clippings in room on carpet when we arrived in room, YUCK!!!

Room Tip: Don't book family room!

We understand the importance of looking after the whole family here at the Riviera Hotel which is why we chose to provide entertainment throughout the school holidays for both parents and children to enjoy. I am sorry to hear that you were unable to enjoy the family disco which ended at 11pm on Saturday evening. When allocating rooms we always strive to keep children away from potentially noisy errors so I would like to apologise that you found your room unsuitable- had you let us know we would have been able to move you to another, more suitable room. As you will see from all other reviews, our housekeeping staff go above and beyond to ensure all rooms and public areas are well tended and clean so I find your comments regarding the carpet very strange- did you report this to reception? We would have rectified the situation immediately if we had been aware of it.

Kind regards
