We have just spent 3 days at The Travel Lodge, Sea front, Bournemouth, with our two kiddies (aged 2 and 4). The location is spot on, the staff could not be more obliging. The hotel does not have air con, and typically it was the hottest day of the year so far. The manager (Paula) was totally understanding and we had electric fans brought to our room within 10 minutes. The family room is standard clean, tidy and of a large size. (311).
It's quite clear the hotel only has very limited parking, so doesn't warrant lowering stars ratings, as you know what to expect. There is free on street parking which is also limited but that's the look of the draw, when you're paying very reasonable prices whilst being in the middle of Bournemouth.
We decided last minute to have breakfast at the hotel as saved messing about trying to find a cafe, when the kids are hungry. Aaron - catering manager was great. He has so much to do with personally serving everyone during these rubbish covid times. He squeezed us in and made us feel very welcome indeed. Top service, thank you

Pros: Great location and Staff. Managers Aaron and Paula were brilliant, (male receptionist was also so on). Thank you.

Cons: Limited parking and no air con. But this didn't bother us, as we knew this before we arrived, plus were so pleased to just be away for a few days.

When we entered the room, it was very hot. Only one window could be slightly and there was no proper ventilation. Family had trouble sleeping and finally had to ask for a fan around 10 PM but that didn't help much either. The room really needs renovation and probably and an air-condition unit. Bathroom exhaust fan was very loud too. Parking was fully booked and not avialable. Had to go around the town few times to finally get a spot.

Avoid room number 4 on the ground floor!!
Small room, no light and an overgrown bush and spiders nest at the window so you can barely see it and can't open the window for some air!!
Apparently they have Seaview rooms which would've been much better but hotel was fully booked.
Parking an absolute nightmare.
Nowhere near enough parking for the hotel.
There's some spaces at the end of the road that you can park up until 10am but then from them can only stay 2 hours maximum.
The remote control for the TV ea nightmare as worked intermittently and was very frustrating.
Also take some clothes hangers work you add THREE is not enough for 2 people!!!!

Good points.
Staff were friendly, it s clean and it's near the beach.

We booked our stay a few weeks ahead and got a fair price.
I checked again a week or so before and the price had doubled.
I wouldn't of been happy paying £150 a night for that room!!!!!

Room tip: Avoid room 4 on the ground floor and take some hangers as 3 is not enough for 2 people!!!

Stayed here for the Bank Holiday weekend with our dog, perfect area to walk to everything.

Parking is a nightmare, we found some free parking 20 min walk away, but for someone not too good at walking then maybe very difficult.

Our room was spacious, clean, and could see the sea out of one of the windows.

A little bit of street noice but hotel was good.

Would stay again and great to be able to take our dog with us.

check in/out very easy and although full we never met anyone else in the hotel.

Pros: friendly staff on arrival, clean rooms, great location and close to the beach. We took a dog with us and there's a park area located 5 min walk, just around the corner for toilet time.

Cons: Parking is poor. There's very limited spaces available for the size of the hotel. If you manage to get one (best time is between 10-3) then you can pay for the number of days you're planning to stay.
There are spaces free for a limited time down the side street - but also lucky if you get one!
The hotel is very noisy, we could hear the family in the room above walking around and moving stuff, which caused our room to tremble. It is an old building, so will expect some noise - was just annoying at 5.30am.
