Description: Aruba Bar and Restaurant is where Bournemouth meets the Caribbean. Our family-friendly restaurant occupies a prime position at the entrance to Bournemouth Pier, with stunning views along the famous beach from the Isle of Wight to the Purbecks. We serve a range of menus, from light bites to three-course lunch and dinner, with a focus on fresh, local ingredients with a Caribbean twist. We are also noted for our exquisite Thai curries, Mexican tacos, pizzas, and handpressed British burgers. Thanks to our central location, sun trap balcony and one of the biggest Island bars in town, we’re a popular spot for after-work cocktails or weekend events – with friends or family. We organise themed events throughout the year – from Rum Sundays to festival themed parties – attracting a fun, lively crowd for live music, promotions and cocktail discounts. Our focus is on providing a safe, fun environment with friendly, professional service and a warm welcome.

Came here at the weekend in the stunning sunshine.
Although the cocktails were expensive my Cosmopolitan was absolutely worth it. Really was lovely and didn’t need more than one.
We sat out on the terrace catching the sun and looking out over the beach.
Lovely location, friendly staff with a great cocktail menu.

Excellent views of the beach and sea beautiful interior design excellent service great menu choice.. We had a small issue with our meal... I can honestly say the duty manager handled it very professionally... 5 star customer service to him... Thank you... A must visit on your trip to Bournemouth... For just a cocktail on the terrace or a meal

The food was ok but overpriced for pub grub. Location and view is what you pay for, not the warm beer and cold coffee.

Really impressed when we walked in, sounded good on website but was a lot bigger than expected. Great views, nicely done, nice terrace. Ordered a few cocktails, they have a good selection and the staff were lovely. Moving into the restaurant though and everything went down hill. We sat for 15 minutes plus and no one came over to take our order, a couple of guys sat next to us and they had their order taken first (although we did hear them chase up their drinks order after about 20 minutes). The website advertises a lot of things that aren't on the menu any more (I was expecting 'Caribbean night' and went for the curry goat which they no longer do and everything is a couple of quid more than on their site, which is fine but update it)! Satay sauce was appalling and the chicken would have bounced off the floor so we sent it back, the girl was very apologetic to be fair but it took forever to catch anyone's attention, same when paying the bill. Nachos literally had a pinch of cheese on them and chef went overboard with peas in the paella, there were some nice prawns in there but it primarily tasted of peas. Shame cos it could be awesome, we felt really let down especially as it was a birthday night out :-(

Hi riksdodgydeals,

I am so sorry that we disappointed you on a special occasion.
I have no excuse for the speed of service on your visit but would like to apologise and thank you for bringing it to my attention. Here at Aruba we pride our selves on our food quality and the fact everything is cooked fresh to order so I am not sure what happened on your visit but I am truly sorry and will be looking into it.

I was also unaware that the website was out of date and will sort that immediately but thank you for being so understanding about this.

I would love it if you came back in and gave us a chance to change your minds with a couple of complimentary meals and cocktails to apologise for not living up to your expectations on your friends birthday

I look forward to hearing from you,
